24.01.2022 PLEASE share with your aviation friends and communities and invite as many people as possible to like this page.

20.01.2022 Further discussions with senior shire officers today were positive and receptive which I have to say was refreshing. Consultation as to what could be in a user agreement looks to be going to happen. It would be nice to be able to work with the shire to produce a mutually beneficial result.

16.01.2022 This page has been created so that those using West Sale Airport or that have leases or freehold have a forum to share experiences and concerns related to West Sale. West Sale Airport used to be owned by the Commonwealth who after having no further use for it offered it to the then 6 local councils for free and in fact gave them some initial funds to support its upkeep. It subsequently after amalgamation of the 6 Councils was then handed over to the Wellington Shire Council. ...Today the airport is supported by many corporate visitors, RAAF flight training and ESSO training as an extension of flight activities at Longford Heliport. Most importantly, or just as importantly it is and has been supported by many private recreational pilots and small to medium businesses. Like many airports owned and managed by local councils we are faced with challenges. I ask that comments and content remain free of offensive language and be professional whilst still being emotional. Failure to do that will result in individuals organizations being blocked. Use the page constructively and positively and also share the 'good stuff'. Use it also for weather updates, share historical stories and info related to your flying adventures.

13.01.2022 The proposed Licence Agreement for West Sale Airport will be revisited. After discussion with Wellington Shire CEO the CEO came to a position that this agreement as presented was possibly not in the best interest of either the users or the airport itself. David Morcom the shire CEO was excellent, professional and attentive and listened to the concerns. This does not mean that a user agreement is not going to happen but maybe one that benefits both the users and the shire.

07.01.2022 Saw this on another post does this resonate with anyone?

06.01.2022 At present most tenants at West Sale Airport have received a document from the Wellington Shire Council which is a Licence agreement. I have yet to read it because I had to get mine via email last night as I have not yet received one in the mail. This document has been met with much resentment from all the tenants for a number of reasons. Many businesses and private operators have contributed much to West Sale over the years and bought a considerable amount of money into the ...shire. What I can say which is fact is that this document was dated the 29th June 2016 with a start date of the 1st July 2016. Nobody received the document till the 4 and 5th July and given 14 days to sign it. It apparently imposes many onerous requirements on people located at West Sale including user charges, landing fees. Yes if you visit West Sale for business for fuel or just to stop due weather or go to the toilet it is going to cost youexcept if you are the RAAF and we think also ESSO may be exempt. So it would appear that only the private individuals and small businesses are going to be called upon to contribute financially to West Sale. There have been a number of meetings scheduled with the shire CEO and I do know that a number of people are seeking legal advice. This airport is a community asset. Businesses on Raymond Street do not pay additional charges to use Raymond Street. We pay rates at West Sale like any other occupier of property whether owned or leased. The most frequent users of West Sale the RAAF possibly ESSO Air Ambulance etc are not be called upon to contribute. This agreement also gives the shire the power to deny access to the airport to any users at anytime. Your thoughts!

05.01.2022 I trust that what we can do with this page is establish relationships with the shire and other potential users to promote West Sale Airport and all be able to operate in harmony. I would like people to share their flying stories and activities at West Sale. Let's not have it be all doom and gloom.
