04.01.2022 Great News Posted @withregram @cyclingaustralia At a Cycling Australia (CA) Special General Meeting held on September 19, six of CA’s eight state and territory associations voted in favour of CA joining AusCycling. This means, CA and six Road and Track State organisations will join BMXA, Mountain Bike Australia and the seven BMX State organisations at the start of AusCycling. This is a monumental day for cycling in Australia. It achieves a significant change to sport gov...ernance in Australia and positions cycling for the future, creating the greatest potential to provide benefits and opportunities for all who ride a bike. What started as an ambitious plan two years ago to bring together 19 cycling organisations to form one new unified nationwide organisation will now be realised. In all, 16 organisations now confirmed as joining, including the three current NSOs of BMX, Mountain Bike and Road and Track. MTBA, BMXA and a wide range of stakeholders and contractors have been working tirelessly over the past six months preparing for the transition into AusCycling and throughout the planning and development process, consideration has always been made to allow for the inclusion of road and track at some point in the future. To allow for a smoother transition to the new organisation, including the required staff consultation and to ensure greater benefits and services to members and clubs from day one including the all-inclusive race licence for all cycling disciplines, the Steering Committee has confirmed AusCycling will commence operations from November 1, 2020. From November 1, 2020, members will have the ability to race all disciplines under one licence, clubs will have access to a range of new programs and resources, and further benefits will be introduced as the organisation evolves. For existing members of any of BMXA, MTBA or CA, your current membership, including insurance coverage, will be recognised by AusCycling until the expiry date of that membership. This will be the case regardless of whether your state association voted to join AusCycling or not. Further updates will be made over the next six weeks.

04.01.2022 -! With the advent of AusCycling, from 1 November all BMX and MTB riders will officially be able to join Westside Cycle Club. Westside Cycle Club is an inclusive club that welcomes riders of all disciplines and we’d love to have you join us. More details will be available on 1 November.... Watch this space!
