23.01.2022 While it is no longer cost effective to repair most electronic items around the house, there are still a few scenarios where it can't hurt to ask if it can be fixed. In this case a power supply had failed and there was no suitable replacement available. A few dollars in parts and a bit of a clean up and it's good to go!

Fact: One safety switch may not be enough. The Electrical Safety Office strongly recommends that safety switches be installed on all circuits in your house. While your house may have cir...cuit breakers installed, only a safety switch will help prevent potentially fatal electric shocks to you or your family. Below is a perfect example of an unsafe switchboard, even though it has a safety switch installed!

As electrical problems aren't nearly as visible as say a leaking tap, your wiring and other equipment can become dangerous without you realising. You don't want your first indication of a problem to be the house on fire!

17.01.2022 Just a friendly reminder to check your leads around the house. This was the result of multiple items plugged in at once via a double adapter. The safety switch in your switchboard may not trip in this scenario, and the last thing you want is a fire starting behind your washing machine or dryer!
