17.01.2022 Just a friendly reminder to check your leads around the house. This was the result of multiple items plugged in at once via a double adapter. The safety switch in your switchboard may not trip in this scenario, and the last thing you want is a fire starting behind your washing machine or dryer!

16.01.2022 With the weather fast warming up, now is a great time to go round and check your air conditioners. Here's a quick checklist on what to look for. - Look for leaves and debris built up behind the outdoor unit. Anything there can have a major effect of the efficiency of the unit. - Check that the drain is clear and not clogged with a wasp nest or ants. If the drain is blocked the water can back up inside the unit, causing major damage.... - Give the ducting and electrical side a quick check to see it not damaged. We often find that the family pooch has got in and had a chew! If the unit is old or on the way out, it's often better to replace early on in the season. New units cost a lot less to run and are much quieter. You also don't want to be stuck without AC on a 40 degree day!

10.01.2022 While it is no longer cost effective to repair most electronic items around the house, there are still a few scenarios where it can't hurt to ask if it can be fixed. In this case a power supply had failed and there was no suitable replacement available. A few dollars in parts and a bit of a clean up and it's good to go!
