Visitors were able to appreciate spring blossoms in a magnificent, art adorned garden, and absorb the wonderful collagraph and mixed media works from the Newfields printmakers group displayed in the gallery

23.01.2022 SPECIAL PLACES is our first exhibition back at Windsor Gallery, after Covid restrictions!( 3rd-28th Aug. Windsor Community Precinct, Riverside) Edna Broad and Diana Targett are the two featured artists, both portraying the 'special' Tasmanian environment. Edna expresses the changing moods and seasons in rainforests, river reflections and beach scenes - in an evocative style, using acrylics and oils. Diana captures her favourite beaches, the central highlands and bushwalks - displaying a sensitivity to line and colour, through the water colour medium. Both artists remind us of how much Tamania has to offer, in its natural values.

19.01.2022 CONGRATULATIONS to John Sneddon his exhibition has been very successful, many of his intricate works have sold, what remains comes down next Friday, John has been lucky because of the length of time the works have been hanging due to COVID-19 but, none the less, John's works have created a lot of interest. The up coming exhibition to be hung by our Curator, Vicky Jansen- Riley are works by Edna Broad and Dianne Targett commencing 1st August. Then September, a return of Carol Anne Morrison and a lovely selection of her beautiful, colourful woolly wearable art works.

17.01.2022 Justine Vaughan. As is often typical of artists, Justine can tick quite a few creative boxes. An English and history teacher in adult education for 40 years, she has a love for words that is apparent in her stories in this recently published book, In Pursuit of Tasmania - A collection of stories and articles by the Tatlers Women Writers of Northern Tasmania which is the oldest writers group in Australia, meeting every month since 1962. Justine is one of the Newfield Printmakers with the studio situated on her property at Swan Point. She also produces artworks in charcoal and acrylic. *If anyone would like a copy of this very entertaining book, please comment below.

08.01.2022 'Unmedicated and Unsupervised ' by Carol-Anne Morrison, is our September exhibition at Windsor Gallery, Riverside Community Precinct. As the title implies, Cam's work promotes a freedom of expression by the individual; it is like a metaphor on how art assists towards better health. Wallhangings reveal beautiful colours and harmony; and the garments are dynamic visual creations that show a mastery of weaving, felting, and sewing - in a variety of materials - including wool, silk, cotton and linen.
