25.01.2022 An update on the new Promenade Garden at West Terrace Cemetery!
24.01.2022 The biggest development to happen in decades at historic West Terrace Cemetery is under way right now. 'The Promenade' burial garden is currently being created on unused ground adjacent to the cottage near the West Terrace entrance to the cemetery. The Promenade has been architecturally designed to compliment the cemetery's heritage and will offer a wide choice of monumentation. A limited number of sites are now available in The Promenade and are selling off-plan. You are welcome to enquire with us during business hours on 81397400 and book a personal inspection visit.
24.01.2022 The Adopt a Grave program at West Terrace Cemetery is an important initiative aimed at fostering a greater understanding of the cemetery's heritage significance as well as preserving the beauty of the cemetery. We had the opportunity to visit the school and view their research presentations at the completion of the program for Term 2 and we thank the students at Adelaide High School for their efforts and community spirit
23.01.2022 The olive trees that have been growing for decades in West Terrace Cemetery produced a good crop this year and we have put the fruit to good use for what we know will be a very special vintage olive oil.
23.01.2022 Enfield Memorial Park did not escape the thick fog that moved across the city this morning, transforming our gardens into misty, magical scenes.

22.01.2022 The new Promenade development at West Terrace Cemetery is coming along quickly, as you can see in this time lapse footage of the turf being laid just yesterday. Should you have any enquiries regarding this full monument burial area, we have a Memorial Consultant on site at West Terrace Cemetery in the curator's cottage on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12.30pm to 4.30pm.
20.01.2022 We're delighted to share yet another image of the newly refurbished Smyth Chapel, looking glorious in the evening light. The recent restoration of this historic chapel has been fascinating in its detail and the level of craftsmanship applied, from the roofing of the spire to the point work of the stone walls. New life has even been breathed into the stone grotesques that stand guard on each corner. It's well worth a visit to West Terrace Cemetery to see this work for yourself.
19.01.2022 A message regarding the SA History Festival West Terrace Cemetery Day Tour: Due to the forecast for inclement weather on Sunday 26th May, we have been forced to make the decision to cancel the tour of West Terrace Cemetery. We thank everyone who registered for this event and we apologise for any disappointment this will cause.

17.01.2022 It was a pleasure to have a happy group of Year 9 students from Adelaide High School visit the AIF section of West Terrace Cemetery this morning. They braved some initially very wild weather to lay a poppy on every single grave in the AIF section of the cemetery in a show of respect and in preparation for Monday's Remembrance Day service at the cemetery. Thank you to Adelaide High students and teachers alike for all your help!

16.01.2022 Led by Apostolic Administrator Bishop Gregory OKelly, a service was held at West Terrace Cemetery today to re-bless the historical Smyth Chapel following its restoration and conservation earlier this year. Attending together with our CEO Robert Pitt were dignitaries, architects, restoration specialists and Adelaide Cemeteries Authority project leaders. The service sees the Smyth Chapel looking its best again, standing as a beautiful piece of history for coming generations to appreciate and admire.

As ever, these projects are the result of the hard work and contributions of a team of skilled and pass...ionate people. Our sincere thanks to them all. Chair of the Authoritys Heritage & Monument Committee said: I am proud that this outstanding example of the restoration and conservation of a highly valued heritage building, the Smyth Chapel within the West Terrace Cemetery, has been acknowledged by the Civic Trust. 10.01.2022 Under blue skies, a crowd of guests that spanned cultures and generations gathered this morning in the AIF Section of West Terrace Cemetery. It was a privilege to take the time to honour the men and women who have served our country and those still serving today. Major Alex Heidenreich delivered a truly memorable address regarding the changing nature of conflict, and following the service it was heartwarming to see respect universally shared, and to see veterans, dignitaries and school children alike mingling and chatting. Our sincere thanks to all who attended.

10.01.2022 A stunning sunset over the Wisteria Garden at Enfield Memorial Park.
09.01.2022 In the 1800s most of Adelaides parks looked more like scrub. West Terrace Cemetery was perhaps the closest the new city had to a park, and on pleasant weekends local couples would dress in their finest and promenade along the cemeterys paths. Although this might seem curious today, it was very much a place to see and be seen. Now in recognition of this period in the cemeterys rich history, our new burial garden in the making has been named The Promenade. Situated just south of the curators cottage in a previously unused area, The Promenade will feature shady trees, relaxing grassed areas and bluestone walls that echo the areas heritage. We look forward to bringing you photo and video updates of this new garden as work progresses.

07.01.2022 At this time of year we see dozens of media messages about End Of Financial Year sales and at the Adelaide Cemeteries Authority were promoting our own products this way, too. Cemetery sites are just like little patches of Real Estate they steadily increase in value, so it makes sense to buy what youll eventually need at todays prices, rather than purchase at the time of need and potentially pay much more. Well be on TV with our EOFY message throughout June. If you have any questions about the offer, by all means get in touch, wed love to hear from you.
