05.01.2022 I have attached this little basic chart to show using timber Vs Steel.I see people believing that steel is better to have over timber in there home.Timber is t...he choice for many reasons when comparing. Plantation forest are perfect, and trees are natures way of providing us building needs. To generate steel you are creating the opposite . Mining and digging massive holes in the earth, only to creating large amounts of pollution to make a product that is conductive and non insulated.Quick way to see how your house will preform lay a length on steel and timber on the ground on a hot or cold day for 10 mins. Then pick up with your hands, of course you will find the timber has not changed but the steel will be hot or cold to touch. This thermal reaction will be now in your home increasing costs to heat and cool for the life of the build.???.Did you know most of the steel is coming from china so you do not see the effects of pollution here or drive down to Port Kembla and watch a steel mill in action.Support our clean timber industry here in Australia and protect the planet/environment for the future. My Government tip is for all new homes built from next year have min 80 % of Australian made & owned products in them ,this would stimulate our economy without handing out grants and create more jobs locally for ever . 01.01.2022 Hello, Saving tip this week.Did you know that wall heights come from the old feet and inch's measurements, 8 foot ceiling is 2440mm and 9 foot is 2740mm If you use these metric heights on your plans/sections when building or drafting. Not only will you save time and money. But your wall frames will made faster, and more cost effective. This is what the timber saw mills cut for every day .Happy to make other heights but they are custom.
