06.01.2022 The flowers are blooming, the birds are out and the days are nice and sunny. Why not make the most of this lovely weather and take a drive to West Wyalong. What is the chances you will ever see a Malleefowl. Well, we made it easy for you. Visit McCann Park and admire the chainsaw tree art sculpture of a Malleefowl and Wedge Tail Eagle. Brendon Kroon carved these beautiful birds with different size chainsaws out of a Redgum tree that had to be removed because of safety. How better to preserve this tree than to make it an art piece. Then head over to Cooinda Reserve and spot a Malleefowl nest and read about this amazing shy bird in the Bland Shire. See you soon!

05.01.2022 The Guardian and ABC Central West published an article on the bird life at Lake Cowal recently that brought a lot of visitors to our area. With all the rain we had the public access were closed as to many travellers got bogged. But Mal Carnegie from the Lake Cowal Conservation Centre has give up his time to take visitors to the Lake so they can see the amazingly many birds that has flocked to the lake recently. The West Wyalong Visitor Information Centre has a map of how to get to the Lake Cowal Conservation Centre if you would like to visit.
