25.01.2022 Unfortunately COVID-19 is still out there. The number of new cases is creeping up again, as you will no doubt be aware of given the situation in Melbourne, and with increasing cases now here in NSW. Please continue to always be vigilant with your hand hygiene and awareness of social distancing. We need to keep our precautions in place here at the surgery, so we will continue to triage patients both over the phone and when you arrive at the practice. This now includes querying you about travel to Victoria, Albury and south western Sydney. If you are booking an appointment on HotDoc PLEASE read and respond truthfully to the questions in place. We are doing our best to keep our patients and staff safe and we hope that you can help us as well.

20.01.2022 We are pleased to advise our phone system is back up and running. Thank you for your patience.

20.01.2022 Low risk isn't no risk. Follow your national health advisory to protect yourself and others from COVID-19

16.01.2022 If you are not a current patient at our practice and are interested to attend as a new patient please download the HotDoc app,https://www.hotdoc.com.au/ register and log in, and book an appointment. You will then be sent a SMS message with a link to complete a new patient registration form online, along with some questions for you to respond to . This will assist to make your first visit and consultation to our practice more streamlined.

15.01.2022 We are requesting that all our lovely patients continue to practise social distancing and maintain good handwashing hygiene. The Department of Health believe that due to the increased levels of colds and other viruses, some people are not being as careful as they were. Please remember that COVID-19 is still out there. Thank you again for helping us to prevent spreading these viruses.

14.01.2022 We too have some lovely patients that have insight and understand and appreciate that doctors run late for a good reason - that they care about their patients and want to give them the time they need. And they also see the 'behind the screens' manic moments in our reception area and appreciate that we do it quite tough at times, especially in these COVID times when we are in and out of the building all of the time to triage patients, take scripts etc out to them. All while wearing a mask for the 10 hours we're at work - less lunch time only. We truly appreciate that you appreciate how hard it really can be.

08.01.2022 Please be advised our phone system is currently not working. Unfortunately we do not have an estimated time frame for when they will be back up. Please keep trying to call. We apologise for any inconvenience.

06.01.2022 WE HAVE RECEIVED A GOVERNMENT DIRECTIVE TODAY THAT ALL PEOPLE ATTENDING HEALTHCARE ENVIRONMENTS MUST WEAR A MASK. Please adhere to this as if you arrive without a mask we cannot let you into our practice and will have to reschedule your appointment. As hotspots are spreading now within NSW, we need to ask you about any travel you have done, and to date this includes local areas such as Maitland and Port Stephens, along with Sydney, and Victoria and its border areas. We will ...also ask whether you have had contact with someone who has been to these areas, and also whether you are awaiting a COVID-19 test. Of course, there will be the usual triaging questions as to whether you have ANY virus symptoms, which include a sore throat, cough, fever, shortness of breath, fatigue, and yes, even a runny nose. Thank you again for your patience and understanding. See more

06.01.2022 When you receive a reminder sms regarding your upcoming appointment, please be sure to read it fully as it contains important information.

06.01.2022 PATIENT REMINDER: There is a $50 fee for appointments that are not attended without notice. This has been part of our practice policy for some years now. We have notices in our waiting rooms and this is also noted in HotDoc in our billing policy. Cancelling the appointment in advance makes the appointment available to another patient who will often be in need of an appointment on that day. It is the patient's responsibility to keep track of their appointments.

04.01.2022 APPOINTMENT REMINDERS - You will receive a SMS reminding you of your booked appointment 24 hours in advance. PLEASE ALWAYS READ THE MESSAGE CAREFULLY and respond as needed. It contains important information, including the DATE AND TIME of your appointment. It is the patient's responsibility to keep track of their appointments.

04.01.2022 Lets hope this picture paints a thousand words ! CSB x

02.01.2022 We would like to advise that it is business as usual here at West Wallsend Medical Centre! You may have noticed or heard that the land and building are for sale. This is correct, however this will not impact on our medical practice and we will be continuing to provide you with all our usual healthcare services
