19.01.2022 Every year, we see kittens (and puppies!) being rehomed far too young. Sometimes the kittens may have been separated from their mother (orphaned, or other reasons)- it is of course important that kittens remain with their mother for the best start in life, but in the absence of a mum, it is also very important *not* to separate kittens from their litter mates too early. Their first weeks of life are very important to their development, and playing with their littermates is a ...key part of this development! Some of these things are: learning how to send and receive signals, what an "inhibited bite" (acceptable mouthing pressure) means, how far to go in play-wrestling, the ranking process, and overall "how to be a cat".. Young kittens also look for warmth, company and comfort, and can become quite distressed if separated from their family too young. It's not only about whether they are still feeding off mum or can eat food..(A two year old child may be weaned and eating food!) Please don't take a kitten away from their family too young. And please be their voice if you see it happening! See more

12.01.2022 Olive- on hold Thanks to Alexandra for sponsoring Olive! (kitten on the left) Our newest kittens- came in quite scared (born to a stray mum cat, so haven't been around humans before)- but as you can see are gradually getting used to the idea of sitting on someone's lap!
