21.01.2022 COVID SAFE procedures Hello to all our beautiful families, We have just reiterated to our swimming teachers that if a child turns up for swimming lessons and they have any signs of illness including, but not limited to, runny noses and/or coughs, they are not to allow them to enter the pool. ALSO if they notice something during a lesson they must ask the child to finish up their lesson. If your child has a medical condition that makes them appear as being ill please let us k...now ALSO if a child has symptoms but is not contagious and has had a COVID test please let us know. It is imperative more now than ever that we follow the guidelines strictly to ensure we can continue to operate and not endanger anyones health. Our teachers are required to test and isolate at the first sign of symptoms as are our family members. We are doing our part, but we need you to do your part too. If you notice someone may be breaking the rules please report it. There may be a perfectly good explanation but we do need to investigate.... Thank you so much for helping us to stay COVID SAFE. 12.01.2022 Here we go, a new skill for us and our kiddos :)
12.01.2022 Swimming progression can be a tricky one to understand as it is not as straight forward as you may think. An understanding of the fact that 30 minutes per week for your child to learn the required complex movements, build the strength needed and work on the co-ordination it takes is just not nearly enough time per week. Adding up the hours practiced per year if your child attended ALL of their weekly lessons would only be 20 hours in total for the year Please feel free to click on the link below to learn a little more about swimming progression, how it works and how you can help. If you have any questions about progression please feel free to comment below OR chat to our friendly team on deck.
10.01.2022 Soon Yoda, soon . Happy May the Fourth

09.01.2022 BREAKING: Queensland schools will move to student-free days next week as we work to limit the spread of coronavirus. Schools will remain open in a limited capac...ity until the end of term on April 3, to allow for the children of essential workers to remain at school and for teachers to prepare to move to remote learning from home. This is not a normal school break and its not a holiday. It is vital that parents take responsibility for their children during this time. #coronavirus

07.01.2022 Dear customers Monday 11 January lessons are suspended as per the Government guidelines. Important COVID Update All swimming club activities including but not limited to, training, club nights, development activities and competitions, in the Greater Brisbane Area (Moreton Bay, Brisbane, Ipswich, Redlands and Logan) is suspended while Brisbane’s three-day lockdown is in place. We strongly encourage all members to reconsider any activity prior to the 6pm lockdown.... From 6pm tonight, Friday 8 January 2021 until 6pm Monday, 11 January 2021, people in Greater Brisbane will be required to stay at home except: to attend work if you can’t work from home; to buy essentials like groceries and medicine; look after the vulnerable; and exercise within their neighbourhood If you do need to leave home as above, masks are to be worn at all times when outside of your place of residence, this includes in workplaces and on public transport. Have you visited Greater Brisbane? Chief Health Officer Jeannette Young has asked anybody who has been in Greater Brisbane since January 2, but are now elsewhere in the state, to self-isolate. "You isolate yourself for those three days," she said. "If you are a local resident but have gone off holidaying on the Gold Coast or Sunshine Coast or Cairns, please stay where you are for three days and do not move around your area." Read the full details here https://apac01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/... [1] We will continue to monitor the situation and communicate any updates as they arise. Stay Safe! Kind Regards, Brisbane Swimming
