25.01.2022 Yesterday (14th August 2011) we had yet another awesome Whale Watching experience out of Eco Beach with whales being seen very close to the shoreline !! Our first sighting was of a Humpback Whale mother, calf and escort - we sighted them within a few minutes of leaving Eco Beach - this is the closest to shore that we have seen whales this season - the calf was continually breaching before and after we approached. Our second sighting was of single adult Humpback Whale who was ...cruising. Our third sighting was of two adult Humpback Whales who were soon joined by another two adults - the four whales started chasing each other and were joined by yet another two adults - the six whales then proceeded to chase each other with lunges, pec slaps, and tail dives. 10.01.2022 Yesterday (16th August) we had another very interesting Whale Watching cruise out of Eco Beach !! We sighted a Humpback Whale mother and calf with two large male escorts - the calf breached close to us and kept approaching the vessel whilst the mother kept quite close to us and performed a large number of tail dives which showed off her badly mangled tail - meanwhile the two escorts were continually lunging at each other with very high roundouts - overall a quite spectacular display !!. 01.01.2022 Its good news for Humpback Whales, which are now classified as "Least Concern" due to increasing populations, however theres still lots of marine species that are under threat. Do your bit by recycling plastic items and always putting your rubbish in the bin!
