20.01.2022 This row of 26 Tipuana trees in the Wharkuroogma Nursery car Park was planted at 5 meter spacing 35 years ago. It has been a very effective windbreak ever since and proved a saving grace on Friday 21 protecting us from 95km winds. Only relatively small branches broke off and the sheep were happy to browse the leaves. I consider this winbreak to be one of the most significant plantings in the context of a whole farm plan of windbreaks shelterbelts, cattle camps , wildlife corridors and erosion control. With the rainfall yesterday (we recorded 75mls) and forecasts taking us into the weekend with much more, it makes for an ideal time to plant your fruiting delights. Come out for a visit and indulge in the peace and birdsong of our rainforest set location. Cold drinks and toilet facilities are available. Open four days, Thursday through to Sunday 9am - 5pm. 16.01.2022 Good morning to all our friends & customers. A late start to the new year but what a great start it has been. We've all experienced a little magic over the past two months with Christmas & the New Years festivities. So too has the Nursery industry experienced a touch of Dwarf Magic!! The new Dwarf Crepe Myrtles realeased in late December by Flemmings are Magically spectacular. Growing to approximately 1.8 x 1.8 mts in a well rounded dense shrub, the Plum, Coral & Purple ... Magic range are divine, not only for their unusual pinkish/purplish/reddish foliage, but lend to a floral spectacular that far exeeds their previous counterparts. A must have for any home garden in large pots, small beds, a useful difference to hedge rows or just a stand alone specimen. The key success to this hardy variety is it's high disease & pest resistence such as powdery mildew & leaf spot. Being both resilient & hardy, it responds well in a position of full sun & difficult, dry soils once it's established. Limited stocks are available in all three forms with further releases pending Why not pop on out, take a look & enjoy our natural surrounds filled with bird song. 12.01.2022 Good morning, The Fassifern Field Naturalists Club will be visiting us here at Wharkuroogma Nursery & Wetlands on the morning of Saturday 15th of this month for a bird watching field trip. If you love the outdoors, nature and you are enthusiastic about wildlife and want to see large numbers of birds on a morning walk, you are welcome to join the Club in the Nursery Carpark at 8.30am. A $5.00 entrance fee will apply plus $2.00 for the FFNC club. Bring chairs, water, morning ...tea, lunch, insect repellent, hat and the usual gear. 03.01.2022 Here is a reciepe that I have tried, it actually makes enough to fill a beer jug. I did it for the three weeks but couldn't get myself to do the final 3 weeks.... (although I don't have cancer, it did give me more energy). whether snopes says so or not.... RECIPE- CARDIAC DISEASE AND HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE From GENEVA CONFERENCE FOR CARDIAC DISEASE This is a great recipe given out in usa from a nursing sister from Base Hospital who had just come back from a Geneva Conference for Cardiac Disease. She said all the people who have had a heart attack are put on this:- With Garlic and Lemons-dissolving of plaque- heart surgery is not needed. Should the veins in your heart, or the coronary blood vessels be narrowed or obstructed by plaque, you should drink a liqueur glass each day of the following extract for a 2x (3week)period, 30mls or nip. 30 cloves of peeled garlic 5 diced fresh lemons (not peeled) Mince these in the food vitamiser or blender Bring mixture to the boil in 1 litre of water and immediately remove from heat Strain, let cool and bottle it Keep in cool place The daily dose of one liqueur glassful may be taken either before or after the main meal of the day After this daily intake ofr 3 weeks, you will already notice a youthful, comfortable regeneration of your whole body, as the supporters of this regimen assure us. The plaque deposits, and their side effect. On sight and hearing for example, will diminish and start to vanish altogether. After following this course of treatment for 3 weeks, one should havfe a break of 8days and the second 3 weeks treatment may be started. It will become obvious that this treatment has a resounding success. This cheap, safe and therapeutic course of treatment should be repeated once a year. Nobody will notice any unpleasant smell of garlic. This completely dissolves the plaque. A number of patients who have been scheduled for surgery have been able to avoid heart surgery because the plaque has been dissolved. This mixture has also proved effective in the case of cent decay (paradontosis) Always store in glass not plastic !
