19.01.2022 An excerpt from the Little Farmers book... The South kids love helping out on their station, Southern Hills at the western end of the Nullabor Plain in Western Australia. Kellen explains some of the jobs they like to help out with:... We run mostly Droughtmaster, Brahman and some Shorthorn cattle here. We muster the cattle once a year with bikes and vehicles. Lately though, because we haven’t had any decent dam filling rain for about five years and all the dams are going dry, we’ve been running poly pipe from the few bores to new water tanks and troughs for the cattle. They all have different ideas of what they want to do when they’re older. Kellen would like to take on a station, Darcy is going to be a helicopter pilot, Riley thinks he might like to be an actor and MacKenzie would like to be a teacher.
