05.01.2022 Given this fast changing & dangerous situation what needs to be strongly considered now by the Federal & State Govts is a total ring fencing of all NSW regional Local Govt Areas (LGA) in order to firewall our communities from the potential for the pandemic to embed itself here. Only legitimate supplies for the local businesses, food trucks, fuel trucks & medical supplies should be granted access to the LGA in order to keep the local economies working & protected. With zero d...eclared corona virus cases thus far now is the time to act & act fast!!! We have already seen bus loads of people from known infected zones in Sydney arrive in our community to ransack the local shops of vital supplies we MUST demand that our Govt put up the protective barriers needed to ensure any further risk to an outbreak in our community is stopped. By utilising the relevant powers & provisions found in the Federal Biosecurity Act 2015 our LGA could be fully protected from any corona virus outbreaks. Given the fact that the national cabinet will meet next week to consider how to implement lockdowns on a suburb-by-suburb basis in the cities after a tightening of restrictions on all pubs, cafes and other non-essential indoor activities stopping entry to regional Australian towns and cities by non-residents is a clear no brainer. I urge all citizens to contact Deputy PM Michael McCormack's office and demand that our LGA and surrounding LGA's such as Coolamon Shire & Lockhart Shire for example be protected from this pandemic threat to our communities by invoking the relevant provisions found in the Bio Security Act 2015. The Federal Govt has already declared that this act in in force & by invoking this sort of quarantine procedure businesses and our community at large would be financially, medically & psychologically better off. Demand action now! Do it!
