21.01.2022 So.....here is my two cents worth COVID 19 HELL This weekend I have worked two massive Ambulance Victoria shifts. I am very tired and possibly a little bit ang...ry as I write this. As you know I’m pretty ‘half is glass full’ kinda gal so this is really important to me. This is directed at the selfish individuals who continue to spread ‘Covid conspiracies’ ‘Mask’s are impacting my human rights’ people.....GROW UP! Yesterday I worked in the western suburbs and apart from working the ‘Thunder-storm asthma’ day I don’t think I have ever worked so hard. We transported several COVID positive patients and the rest we had a high level of suspicion that they had the virus. One of them was desperately unwell...requiring modified treatment from us as some of our as our pre-COVID respiratory treatments create too many droplets and are unsafe for us paramedics. He was VERY SICK and as I left his sobbing wife on the nature strip I couldn’t even hug her because this VIRUS IS REAL. She was saying her last goodbyes to him as we raced off to hospital. It is like a war zone out there. I then have to come home to my family....so worried about whether I have the virus, will I give it to Harley, what about my kids who I need to send to school when I am working, what about the other kids who are at their school , what about their their families? The VIRUS IS REAL. To my amazing work colleagues...Paramedics, Nurses, Doctors, Police, Fireys, and all you other essential workers....THANKYOU. I know you are doing it incredibly hard and we are all so worried about the spread of this....exposing ourselves and our families day after day. To my Facebook friends who sit at home, safe, posting about things you know nothing about...STOP IT! It disrespectful, hurtful, disappointing and really painful to read when all I want to do is continue to spread love, light, laughter, a bit of hope (and sometimes even a bit of medical treatment) to my patients when all I am seeing if fear. Wear masks, respect the emergency services, do the right thing and stop spreading lies. This VIRUS IS REAL. Love to all...please stay safe.

16.01.2022 GIRRINGUN TUMRA - WANT TO HUNT? THEN APPLY FOR A PERMIT Important Notice: valid permits are required for legal hunting within the Girringun TUMRA region. The ...Girringun TUMRA region is the sea country belonging to the traditional Owners from: Bandjin, Djiru, Girramay, Gulngay, Nywagi and Warragamay peoples (The coastal area and inshore islands located between Garners Beach and Rollingstone Creek is all Indigneous Protected Areas of Sea Country). On Friday 28th August 2020, a very important meeting was held by Girringun Aboriginal Corporation with government stakeholders regarding compliance and illegal hunting of protected species in Indigenous Protected Areas. The Girringun Indigenous protected area (IPA) was dedicated in June 2013 and covers 1.2 million hectares in Far North Queensland. If you are found hunting Turtle and/or Dugong in the Girringun region TUMRA area without a valid permit you are liable for legal prosecution, monetary penalities (fines) and possible confiscation of vehicles and/or vessels.
