25.01.2022 Every response matters. Emotional intelligence matters. Some words to help...when sometimes we struggle to respond.
24.01.2022 We cannot escape the realities of the world but we can try and assist our children with a variety of strategies.
23.01.2022 If you ordered a 2020 Wonga, they are now available from the Wongan Hills news agency. At this point there will not be a SkoolBag notification so if you know someone who is waiting for one please let them know that they are now available. We thank Mr and Mrs Booth for their continued support.
20.01.2022 Room 6 students thoroughly enjoyed celebrating Book Fair today with some fab costumes and plenty of favourite books brought in. We then completed some writing about our favourite book, favourite character or a book review. Next week, we will read some of the books that have been brought in and find out the results of our class Reading Survey....which students read every day, just for sheer enjoyment and which students only read because they have to !!!
17.01.2022 We are very grateful for the support our community gives to the school...this time a special thanks to Todd Keeffe and Aaron Derbyshire from Nutrien for delivering some large and heavy items to the school last week!
16.01.2022 2020 WONGA Unfortunately there has been a delay in the delivery of the 2020 edition of the WONGA. It is expected that we may be able to pick them up sometime next week. The Wongan Hills Newsagency has kindly agreed to be a distribution point for us and we thank them for their support. Please keep an eye out for Skoolbag and Facebook posts which will advise when they are available for pick up. Please note that there were only enough copies ordered from the completed order forms.
16.01.2022 Did you know that the school offers quite a few options to cater for different interests at lunchtime, as well as providing cooler places to escape to on those hot summer days? Not only is the library open for reading and games most lunchtimes, but on Thursdays, students can view the latest science documentaries and on Fridays, they can participate in the Wongan Waste Warriors Club! Today we began screening the latest David Attenborough documentary, A Life on Our Planet, to an eager crowd of around 30 students from Year 1 -7. We hope that the documentary provokes a lot of thought and discussion about the actions that each of us can take with regard to reducing our waste and living more sustainably.

14.01.2022 It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas! Yes it’s that time of the year already and so we finish with one final festive Art display from Room 3. Chalk pastel Christmas Lights and Yarn Stick Trees. What a wonderful year of Art we have had in the Junior Primary. Students will continue creating seasonal art work for the remainder of the year however, they won’t adorn the walls of the corridor.
14.01.2022 Techno Challenge Over the past three weeks students in the Junior Primary have been exploring different types of technology in STEAM Discovery. They have coded bee bots and code-a-pillars, deconstructed computers, interacted with robots, driven Dash devices and completed puzzles using Osmo. Students also used apps to solve coding challenges and create animated recordings and artwork. It has been highly engaging learning for all involved!
11.01.2022 On Thursday & Friday this week, the Room 6 students will be raising money for their class by selling fresh lemonade for $1 cup, plus delicious cookies for $1 each at lunchtime. Please support our fundraising and buy some of the yummy treats that we have made ourselves!
11.01.2022 Tomorrow night is movie night! Please see details below. Students must have Good Standing to attend. Please also note High School students under the age of 15 will need written consent for Black Panther (a PG movie is available for this age group).
10.01.2022 Christmas Capers New rotations have started in Junior Primary STEAM Discovery today. This week’s photos are from the Gourmet Grinching station where students listened to How the Grinch Stole Christmas before making edible delights. These included Max the Rein-dog, Fruity Grinches and a Whoville Christmas Tree!
10.01.2022 Last night was our Inland Lighthouse Network annual Recognition of Excellence Award Night. School staff from around our network were nominated and voted on by their colleagues for Outstanding Service to their respective schools. Our very beautiful, dedicated and professional School Officer, Amy Carragher (aka Miss Amy) was presented this award from Wongan Hills DHS. Regional Executive Director, Mr Neil Darby, presented the awards to the staff, also acknowledging the amazing w...ork down by all schools in the network this year, especially in the times where we were affected by the pandemic. Congratulations again to Miss Amy. We certainly value and appreciate you.

04.01.2022 With a forecast of 42 tomorrow and a few students who forgot water bottles today - a timely reminder to stay safe in the heat! Bring water bottles, drink plenty and stay in the shade when you can. And on that note - please also be aware it is a total fire ban for Wongan-Ballidu and Victoria Plains tomorrow.
