25.01.2022 Rhipsalises, I find, are great in kokedamas. Those foliage dangling from the mosssball makes it look alien-like. Maybe its just me, or do you find it the same? They do not like direct sunlight especially the harsh afternoon sun. However, they prefer filtered light and if outside, under the shade. Perfect for kokedamas because you really only need to water and feed them when the ball is really light and dry. 22.01.2022 A BIT OF A LONG READ... It is nearly a week (tomorrow) that masks are mandatory for us who live in Metro Melbourne and the Mitchell Shire. The lockdown is starting to make me feel a little down... cant see friends and family, cant go shopping like we used to... CANT, JUST CANT... Is anyone feeling or starting to feel this way? However, we have to do what is best for ourselves, our families and for everyone, especially the vulnerable. I personally do not want to go throug...h the 2 weeks isolation, not being able to kiss and hug my kids. The mental, physical and emotional deprivation... not to mention the symptoms that I may have. I wouldnt be able to forgive myself if I pass it to anyone, to Paul, Ethan or Charley. As a theatre nurse, I know that in a way I am not exactly at the frontline of the hospital and of this virus. I feel for my colleagues in the ED, ICU and the Aged Care facilities (and the PCAs). People go through them before myself. But the uncertain feeling is still there when we get emergency cases and suspected patients. Seeing people who defy the mandatory wearing of face masks, selfish people, persons who feel like they are above any rules.... sometimes makes me wish that they do get it. Because if they do, it will be a 360 degree turn around and would be (one would hope) advocates for mask wearing. So please, keep safe everyone. This is just the 2nd wave... there will be more. The world as we knew it, wont be the same... at least (I hope and pray) just for the next few years. This trio of kokedamas are also rocking the masks Ive made for myself and Paul... in my previous story, made a couple for E too. It isnt recommended nor mandatory but it is under the discretion of parents and carers. 11.01.2022 Phew been MIA a little bit lately! Ive been asked by some colleagues if I am making any masks.... so for the past days, been making them (just like my kokes wearing them ). So I will be loading a few tonight then again tomorrow. I use ribbons instead of elastics. I, myself, dont like the elastics coz my ears dont hold them unless it is really thin. So by using ribbons, I can simply tie them behind my head. These are 3 layers, with an option to place a filter, and also a ...pocket to put a wire where the nosebridge is. All of us in VIC will now be required to wear one when out starting Sunday around mignight. However, where ever you are please keep safe...
