25.01.2022 Hello, fellow Flatters As mentioned previously, this page has limitations for anyone wanting to post to it, and can be frustrating. Are you aware there is another Facebook page being used by locals? It is used for general information, local road, fire and flood warnings, to report escaping stock, and even to track migrating butterflies! The only major restrictions are that everyone must be nice to each other, not curse or rouse about people and organisations, and try to fin...d positives. If you are keen to join another local group, find CAPARRA & WHERROL FLAT RESIDENTS. Then send a joining request, and meet the neighbours.

19.01.2022 Hello everyone, Last Saturday’s meeting and committee election was an extremely well attended event, with 32 locals being present. There were plenty of ideas and suggestions, and loads of enthusiasm from everyone for ways that the hall can be made accessible for more functions. The main aim for the committee is to carry on the wonderful work and devotion of previous office bearers and members. A sincere vote of thanks was made at the meeting to all present and past members ...who have contributed so richly to the management, upkeep and development of Wherrol Flat Hall. The new committee is made up of a mixture of previous position holders together with other keen members wanting to share the load. Your committee is made up as follows: Stewart d’Archy - President Paul Cuttell - Vice President Trevor Leggott - Secretary Jacqueline White - Treasurer Allen Valentine - Public Officer Helen Valentine - Auditor Louise Veale - Communictions Officer. These people are available to be contacted should you have any queries with relation to events at or access to the hall. Details of their contact numbers will be available here soon. Now to the fun. Being mindful of current statewide health restrictions, two events have been planned and further details will be shown closer to the dates. *** MCC Bushfire Recovery Pizza Night (an open event for ALL Wherrol Flat and Caparra locals, whether directly or indirectly fire-effected) Friday, 20 November 2020 From 5.30pm *** Wherrol Flat Christmas Get-Together Sunday, 13 December 2020 Watch this space for more information.

06.01.2022 It was certainly encouraging to see so many locals at the meeting of Wherrol Flat Hall Inc last night. This is the best chance the committee of the hall has to gain input from the community, and hear the variety of opinions on issues pertaining to the hall, and the events which happen there. There are plans afoot for upgrading of the hall to prepare the premises should it be needed in emergency situations. These alterations, of course, will also make the general amenity of ...the hall more comfortable. As well, some legal issues need to be addressed. These subjects were discussed at this meeting. Please, take the time to have a look at the minutes. It may give you a clearer idea of what is happening, and may provide an explanation when you pass the hall and see various work being carried out. More important though is the list of events and functions planned for the hall during the coming months. Everyone is most welcome at these gatherings, so please consider joining in. If you have any ideas for other functions, just contact any of the committee or come to the next meeting. Minutes meeting 21 April 2021.pdf

03.01.2022 Have you marked the calendar? Wherrol Flat Hall Inc meeting is being held this Saturday from 2:00pm. Please come along and join in the discussion about how our valley members can use the hall as a regular catchup place. ... Even consider playing a more active role by nominating for one of the committee positions. Remember to be financial so that you can vote on any decisions: $5.00 (single) or $10 (family), payable prior to the meeting. See you on Saturday.

03.01.2022 The Annual General Meeting of the Wherrol Flat Hall Inc is to be held on Saturday 17 October beginning at 2:00pm. This is a very important meeting and the valley needs your help. When the valley was traumatised last year so many amazing and generous angels stepped forward and used the hall to keep us all safe and comforted. Over a longer period many locals have offered their time to keep the hall and it’s functions running. They too provided that help I’m referring to. ... Now we need to get together and revitalise our wonderful hall and fill the void that will be left when some of our hardworking committee steps down at that meeting. We need young and not-so-young, and long-timers and newbies, and everyone in between. On many occasions locals have talked about the need for more functions and greater access to the hall. This can only happen when those same people are keen to participate, even in a small way. That doesn’t necessarily mean by taking a position on the committee, but by attending meetings and functions, or even coming forward with ideas. So, . . . please come to the meeting. Bring $5 (single membership) or $10 (family membership) so that you can vote or fully participate. Bring your ideas and suggestions. Bring your neighbours. And remember, Wherrol Flat Hall is a community building. Let’s make it thrive again.
