11.01.2022 Today marks 161 years since The Ian Potter Queen's Hall first opened! Named in honour of Queen Victoria, the complete space opened on her birthday (24 May) ...in 1859. From 1915 to the 1970s, the hall was home to the Industrial and Technological Museum. The grand space hosted the Library's Art, Music and Performing Arts Library from 1975 until 2003. For almost 20 years, the hall's beauty could only be imagined, as it was closed to the public from 2003 to 2019. We can't wait to welcome you back to the Library to visit this historical gem once again! Learn more: slv.vic.gov.au//our-magnificent-spa/ian-potter-queens-hall
