24.01.2022 Inspiration for making better choices.

24.01.2022 Sorry for the sporadic posting! I'm going to aim for a bit more consistency this year. So I have been asked a few times to share some recipes of how my family uses essential oils. I thought I'd start with this one: Eczema balm. We try to control the kids eczema through diet, gut health and eliminating any nasty washes or shampoo/conditioners. Even with all that hard work (mainly in the our kitchen!) our kids still get patches of eczema. No where near as bad as if we didn't ...do all that but still it can get sore and itchy patches, which sometime leads to kids not sleeping . With the weather we've been having poor Poppy has had a fair few patches flare up and this is what I use. I use lavender essential oil for its calming anti-fungal, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory properties. Frankincense is amazing for cell repair. Other great oils for eczema are tea tree, cedar wood or myrrh. Just make sure they are good quality oils or you might do more harm than good! Some chemist or health store ones are full of nasties. 1/2 cup extra virgin coconut oil 1/2 cup Shea nut oil 1 table spoon of raw honey (I use Moser's because it's local and is awesomely priced) 30 drops of lavender 10 drops of frankincense In a double boiler gently melt the shea nut oil and coconut oil. You don't want to heat it too much as it will kill off those great healing properties. Once melted stir in the raw honey. Add your essential oils and pop it in the fridge. Once it's started to set pull it out and whipped it. Store in a glass container. This recipe lasts us about 6-8 months used on three little kids most days. (This also makes a great foot balm!)

23.01.2022 My names Angus and my Arthritis is so bad Mum has to lift me into the car. Luckily it doesn’t prevent me from jumping the chook fence to ‘collect’ the eggs.

19.01.2022 Next time that Ned says I can’t read properly I know exactly what I’m going to do. I going to destroy him. Right, here Sibling love, there is nothing stronger.

15.01.2022 After watching a family who is working around Australia Wwoofing this morning, I really wanted to do something. Just something to feel like I was really living. Now we can’t just pack up and travel today so we settled on walking the dogs down the bush. Surely that’s similar, right? I once read an article of the importance of the hierarchy of needs for exploring with kids. They need full tummies, water and comfortable clothing before they are ready to fully enjoy the outdoors.... After a less than awesome bush walk yesterday, think crying and refusing to move for a few hours times by three, we tried hard to nail today’s adventure. This looked like us packing enough food for roughly a week. I then added a few extra apples just in case. We chucked in roughly 4 days worth of clothes, a weeks supply of water. Grabbed my oils and coated the kids to stop the mozzies. I hoped the cedar wood, rosemary and peppermint in the mozzie spray would also help them be resilient and energised. I started to feel pretty confident in myself. We then sent the big kids to get dressed, grab shoes and jump in the car. We get to our exploring location and here is Mr 6 in his full glory. Unbuttoned flanny, head scarf, harem pants looking awesome and loving himself sick. Nailed it.

13.01.2022 I'm just loving these bright cheery colours today.

12.01.2022 Ned's favourite way to start the morning- picking his oily bend for the day. Today he has chosen his red tiger eye bracelet and coupled that with a blend of Balance, Lemongrass and Lemon which will help him focus, be positive and clear headed. What's your favourite combo? ... Mine is ylang ylang, cedar and wild orange- calming and cedar for grounding.

04.01.2022 How pretty is this rhodonite, rose quartz and lava bead bracelet for a little girl. I was never a pink type of person but I'm loving the softness of this.

03.01.2022 Beautiful pinks and earthy browns arrived today Got eight customer orders to their new homes Had time to make my kids (another) bracelet each What an awesomely productive day!

02.01.2022 My felting buddy has grown. He now 'sorts' my roving. Samples it to see if the taste changes from colour to colour. ... And spreads the wire across the lounge room. Isn't he glorious?
