15.01.2022 All this waiting is driving me cross-eyed! We spoke to Sandown again today and unfortunately they still don't have a timetable for a return of the public to the track. This in turn means we can't work out any potential dates for whippet racing. We'll keep in touch with Sandown and let you know as soon as there is any change.

15.01.2022 In mid 2017 Jane created this lovely video collage of the year so far.

14.01.2022 Lets just say I'm excited for the first race meet of the season! Next Saturday, see you all at about 12.15pm for registration! ready for a 1pm start!

11.01.2022 In the interest of public health, and minimising the spread of COVID19, Whippet Racing will be postponed till the roller coaster ride smoothes out. We have had this decision backed up by the Sandown Track and will let you know when we will be returning to our monthly race meets! In the mean time, please be kind, check on family and friends via phone and social media, phone calls can make a huge difference to a person's day. And share some food if they need it! Much love and virtual (((((hugs))))))) from the committee.

08.01.2022 A little bit of fun!

07.01.2022 By all accounts it was another fun day at Sandown back in June 2017. The weather was kind, the whippies had a blast and everyone enjoyed the day. Were you and your pointy noses there on the day?

06.01.2022 WHAT A FINISH! Todd was excited to announce a dead heat! (race meet 1, Feb 22nd 2020) "Race 2 (152 m) saw Plugger and Rockslide arrive at the finish line in a dead heat at 10.92 The winner is determined when any part of the whippet, muzzle or vest reaches the front edge of the finishing mirror first. The photo frame where both dogs finished was zoomed down to the single pixel level using Adobe Photoshop. A row of pixels from each dog's muzzle aligned perfectly with the mirro...r front edge, making this a dead heat. Odds of that happening again are probably 1 and 10 million." See more
