25.01.2022 3 youngsters, all very different and each special. Hoping to get them into more consistent training and into the show ring. I've got one mare left to breed and it's the only foal for myself with my wonderful mare Sweetie. Fingers crossed for a positive pregnancy. *Cheers* to a fantastic 2020!!!

22.01.2022 SOLD- thank you to those for sharing this post For Sale: WRS Party Diva (AAA Registered) 3 year old filly by 'Kapyong Sure To Par-Te' and out of 'JT U Can't T...ouch This'. This filly has the who's who of Appaloosa breeding on both sides. Both parents being National & State Champions. Bred to be a true all rounder. Fantastic temperament that's smart & willing to learn and actually loves the learn. All basics mastered - will catch you, halter, tie up, pick up feet, float load. Ready to be started under saddle right away. This is a regretful sale as I adore this filly but she's going to be too short for myself. She's looking to mature to 14.3hh but she's very solid build, but her height means a person of shorter stature than myself would be suitable or young teen, or with her temperament ideal for an experienced family that can give her the experience and make the absolutely best children's horse in the future. She's a Bay fewspot, which does mean she's night blind and this hasn't been an issue, it just means being sensible about moving her into paddocks in the morning rather than dusk so she can get to know the paddock and with good horse fencing. (like I'd hope horse people do with ANY horse anyway?) Located Tolmie, VIC. Price $three thousand, three hundred Please no time wasters, no leases, no payment plans. If this filly doesn't sell I'll happily show her in led versatility classes, so this isn't a forced sale, so would LOVE to see her go to an amazing home. She truely is the type of horse that will be your best friend and that's what I'm looking for for her. :) See more

18.01.2022 Welcome to the world! Pearl has given me a beautiful filly by Jackpot (Subtle Tribute (dec)). Pearl really has already proven herself to be an amazing mum, I’m so proud of this mare I bred, her kind loving temperament is shining through. I never think of names before the birth because I feel like that might jinx it, so open to name suggestions both paddock & rego. WRS Smokey Black Pearl x Subtle Tribute

17.01.2022 Teachings from Ray Hunt :)

15.01.2022 Manure collection day! a little tip when you’re wanting to do this for a few horses and they never seem to poop when you’re wanting them too (seems like every five minute all other times!!) take them to your open float and do some practice loading, you’ll normally get a nice steaming hot one sooner!

14.01.2022 Final breeding returns completed for Subtle Tribute, so feeling rather emotional. Thank you again to those who supported us over the years.

12.01.2022 Did you breed your mare/s this season? :)

11.01.2022 Not the Christmas I’d planned little Jewel injured her eye. She’s a little fire cracker, gave us a hard time. She’s a lot more sensitive than any foal I’ve had before so it’s time for some handling! Looks like an eyelid scratch so hopefully will heal well.

09.01.2022 Welcome to the Whiskey River family ‘Barney’ I’ve gone back to my roots and he very much reminds me of my first horse Nelly, who was also a Standardbred. I really do love Standardbreds and this boy is no different. Great temperament, wants to please, sure footed, and this boy is also a big smooch! He’s a 16yo, 16.1hh Standardbred gelding. I had back surgery a couple months ago now, so this boy is helping me get my confidence back. He’s already been so forgiving while I figure out how to do things again with a bung leg lol

08.01.2022 Wishing you all a wonderful New Year!!!

07.01.2022 I haven't watched these DVDs in a few years but I think it's time for a re-watch, highly recommend them.

07.01.2022 Where did it all start for you? Share your pictures & stories. I was lucky enough to go trail riding from Pinnacle Valley as a young kid in our amazing bush in the Merrijig area. I didn't buy my first horse until I was 21 years old. I bought a recently broken in grey Arab mare. Yep, not a great decision! I learnt that lesson fast and my next horse was an ex trail riding Standardbred mare named Nelly from Uncle Nevs. After getting more experience under my belt I got my first young well bred registered Appaloosa gelding named TPL Whiskey River....and the rest is history.

06.01.2022 Jewel - my little cutie pie xoxo

03.01.2022 Great news so far this breeding season. Pearl (WRS Smoky Black Pearl) has tested 15 day positive in foal to Subtle Tribute. Also Macy (JT U Can't Touch This) has tested 45 days in foal to Recycled Genetics, her new owner is definitely going to have a cracker foal.
