24.01.2022 "A smashing Chardonnay to match a top premier or even grand cru Burgundy. Huon Hooke, The Real Review This is old world-style Aussie Chardonnay at its best. The Oakridge 864 range yields only small batches from specific and single blocks, released in only the best years. A Yarra Valley Gem ... Pale lemon straw hues. Pronounced aromas rich in complexity; clean floral notes, citrus, white peaches, flint and spice. Concentrated, well contained and voluptuous. Flavours that build to a crescendo on the palate, finely balanced by fresh acidity. Absolutely enjoyable now but very cellar worthy too. The Colomé Vineyard is located in the upper Calchaquí Valley. This wine is produced from a blend of four high elevation vineyards, the highest of which sits at 10,207 feet. It's a smashing expression of Argentinian Malbec. ... What makes this region so special? The super high altitudes mean less UV protection and more sun exposure. This results in thicker-skinned fruit which translates robust flavours, balanced with bright acidity. Deep ruby with purple hues.
