25.01.2022 HaPpY HuMp DaY I am so out of routine guys, definitely had way too long of a covid break and am not used to working I've felt tired at the end of work days and have been so out of practice. ... Made time to get on my mat the last two days and honestly... never regret it. Feels SO GOOD to move my body. Sometimes you forget... So here's a reminder. Get on your mat. 25.01.2022 Do you notice yourself being triggered or reacting easily? Have you ever heard about the 90 second concept? Dr. Jill Bolte Taylor said once triggered, the chemical released by my brain surges through my body and I have a physiological experience. Within 90 seconds from the initial trigger, the chemical component of my anger has completely dissipated from my blood and my automatic response is over. If however, I remain angry after those 90 seconds have passed, then it is b...ecause I have chosen to let that circuit continue to run. Reaction versus response - Reaction is typically quick without much thought, tense and aggressive. Response is thought out, calm and non threatening. You have the choice, to respond or react in any given situation Take a breather and choose wisely. We may not always be 100% in control of our reactions but we can practice. 23.01.2022 I do miss taking face to face classes! I miss adjusting my students, I miss human connection, I miss seeing the calm, happy and satisfied look on your faces after I say #namaste at the end of class! All of these things I miss immensely. But I am SO grateful, that I still get to teach and connect with you all online. We have all adapted to the new, temporary way of life so well and for that I am thankful. 22.01.2022 Last chance to sign up guys! The challenge starts this Sunday and I am SO excited! Who would like to join us on a two week challenge over the term 3 break?... The challenge would mean a commitment to a daily practice of yoga over the 14 days. You will receive a 20-30min videos (by me) every single day over the two week period, that you will follow in your own time on the day! The videos will be a mix of slow yoga, vinyasa yoga, power yoga, stretching and meditation. (which are all forms of yoga) You will also receive daily inspo and short tutorials, educational videos. Don't forget to acknowledge that you are still standing strong even if at times it doesn't necessarily feel like it. You are doing great! And you deserve all the love from yourself that you give to others. Look in the mirror and remind yourself how much you are loved. Affirm "I LOVE YOU, I FUCKING LOVE YOU."
22.01.2022 Looks like baby vom, tastes like warm, fuzzy, winter goodness With sweet potato and silverbeet from mamma's garden ... INGREDIENTS: Feeds 6 3 ts olive oil 1 chopped onion 3 chopped garlic cloves (I never go easy on the garlic) 2 leeks 3 large potatoes 1 sweet potato 1 big bunch silverbeet 1 carton chicken stock or 4 cups (I like to use Massel's organic stock) 3 tbs cream METHOD: Add olive oil, onion and garlic to large saucepan, cook and stir for 5min. Add chopped leek, potato and sweet potato and add to saucepan, stir and cook for 5-10min. Add chicken stock, bring to the boil and let simmer for 20min or until veggies are cooked. Add cream and silverbeet then simmer for another 5min. Mix it all up with a mixer. Buon Apetit Save this and make it for dinner tomorrow! Who wants more easy recipes?

Honestly... I'm personally so over everything right now, I'm over this lockdown, I miss my family, I'm bored and my positive attitude is running out of energy. But I want to be real... this year has been testing for all of us in so many ways and I am definitely ready for it to be over. I advise taking about 10 deep breathes in each of these poses, maybe less or maybe more depending on how you feel. 17.01.2022 Went for a walk this morning Fresh air, nature and a short a meditation always make me feel better. I thought Id think about a few of the good things that have come out of the current situation for me in particular, and maybe you could share one good thing that has come out of this for you?... Lets shift our focus on some of the positive things! I have totally stepped out of my comfort zone my offering yoga online, and finally feel fairly comfortable in front of a camera (this is a massive deal and I was procrastinating with this one for years!) I feel like I am not constantly in a rush and have more time to enjoy doing what Im doing rather than trying to get to my task quickly. I have realized that family time is seriously the most important time and plan to practice being so much more present when I finally get to see them! Your turn

When you catch yourself getting caught up in thoughts of self-doubt, or self-judgment or beating yourself up about how you could have done something differently, take a moment to consciously change your thought process.... This takes time and practice, and is obviously easier said than done. Firstly you have to CATCH yourself! Secondly you have to CHOOSE to CHANGE the thought patterns. Thirdly you have to TAKE THE TIME to CONSCIOUSLY speak to yourself in a kinder way. Turn the words around into something that you would say to a friend and then repeat it in your mind until you BELIEVE it. You are amazing, and if anyone should know it for sure thats YOU dear friend! Moving online, I felt Lisa translated this flawlessly and I still feel like she gives every student her full attention to ensure they have the most effective practice. 02.01.2022 When I first started practicing yoga, I struggled with the slowness of it. I was so used to fast paced exercise and didnt know or care to much for the meaning of mindfulness, inner peace, self awareness and connection. Now its my favourite way of meditating, I still find it hard to sit for long periods of time to meditate. But meditation does not have to be done seated. It can be done walking, moving and while practicing yoga!... It has taught me to slow the F down, how to be calm in a storm, how to breath through stress and pain, its teaching me how to love myself and others unconditionally. 02.01.2022 SHOULDER STRETCHES Save these easy stretches if you Have tight, sore shoulders Work at a desk all day Want to improve your posture Need a midday break Stretch 1 - Clasped hands. ... Interlace you're hands behind your back, roll and squeeze shoulders back and take your gaze up towards the ceiling. Stretch 2 - Seated cat cows. Inhale to press your chest forward, shoulders squire back and gaze up. Exhale to round your back and shoulders and drop your chin down towards your chest. Stretch 3 - Eagle arms. Wrap one arm underneath the other and then wrap your hands so your palms are touching. Take your gaze up if it feels ok on the neck and then switch sides. Stretch 4 - Thread the needle. From a table top position bring your arm up towards the ceiling and then sweep it in front of your opposite wrist placing your ear and shoulder down to the ground. Brining the other arm behind your back is optional. Then switch sides. Exercise 5 - Puppy pose. From table top walk your hands forward dropping your chin and chest down towards the group for a deep shoulder and back stretch. Keep your hips in line with your knees.
