25.01.2022 ’The mud will always wash off, but the memories will last a lifetime’ The Blossoms have had the BEST day because we got to have Waterplay. Miss Clodagh and her little ones connected some old pipes to A-Frames so the children could experiment with pouring, collecting, seeing what loose parts can do, and of course, watching gravity pull the water down. The Blossoms had a blast and every single one of them enjoyed splashing around and experimenting with the water. Throughout t...heir time in the middle yard, our little ones discovered that water and dirt created glorious MUD.

25.01.2022 Happy Early childhood Educators day to our amazing and passionate team of educators here at our Robina centre

23.01.2022 ‘NAIDOC Week Celebrations’ Here’s a collaboration of photos to show you what learning, activities, experiences and resources the children were provided while enjoying NAIDOC Week here at Whispering Gully Robina. While some of the children may be too young to understand the importance of acknowledging Australia’s cultural heritage, by exposing them young the respect learned will be key to acknowledging just how much the Indigenous people have given, and continue to give, to o...ur country.

23.01.2022 Dear families, We are thinking of you all this week as many of you work from home. The Department of Education website has been updated and now includes a list of resources to support children’s continued learning while at home. These resources are available for teachers, educators and families to access. The 0-3 years resource tab provides links to a range of websites which are also relevant for kindergarten aged children, such as zoo sites and a range of information to s...upport parents of children aged birth to school age. The imagination resource tab provides information sheets on a range of children’s picture books, sharing discussion ideas and experiences to possibly undertake at home. The sheet also includes links to online videos sharing the story. Take care and keep safe https://earlychildhood.qld.gov.au/e/early-learning-at-home

23.01.2022 Who doesn’t love a bit of construction play? Here at Whispering Gully Robina, we are lucky enough to have a highway right over the fence. This is the perfect separation tool for some of our little ones. As we all loved looking at the trucks on the motorway this morning, Miss Kadek extended this opportunity by providing the children with a small truck and digger experience. This consisted of an assortment of materials by the table for them to explore all senses while they dug, collected, and tipped the pasta around the tray.

15.01.2022 ‘Experimenting with cause and effect always has such an interesting side to it’ Dry ice is liquefied carbon dioxide gas, that gets frozen to extremely low temperatures. Together our Waratahs spent some time experimenting with the dry ice. We first poured water in the jar. This created a chemical reaction, what looked like white smoke. One of the children suggested food colouring and dish liquid. Well, I wasn't expecting this reaction. When you have water and dry ice it crea...tes bubbles inside the jar and when we added the dish liquid this created a new chemical reaction. We had big bubbles filling with the dry ice smoke. The children took turns at popping and bubbles and this gave a ripple effect across the table.

13.01.2022 ‘An adventure always awaits’ Here at the gully, our Golden Wattles room has the privilege to have another little yard right outside their doorstep. Last Thursday throughout their morning of learning Miss Alisha provided them with this beautiful hands on and fun filled experience. To the middle yard they ran, heading straight for the sensory and exploration experience. A beach-themed tray was set up with shells, sea creatures, plants and lots more goodies to help the childre...n further explore and discuss what we think lives in the ocean and at the beach. This experience was based on recent parent communication as some of their fellow friends have enjoyed spending time at the beach with their family and friends.

07.01.2022 Here at Whispering Gully, we celebrated something a little different throughout our day. We incorporated the colours of maroon and blue into our activities along with the State of Origin. Are you a QUEENSLANDER or BLUES supporter?

06.01.2022 Bright coloured pom-poms, a soft texture and some jumbo tongs, what more fun could you want?! Our fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination were explored through a tray experience this morning in the Bluebells room. All hands were on deck as they manipulated and explored a range of skills through transferring the pom-poms to and from their bowl. This activity was based on a child’s interest earlier on in the week, tomorrow our little ones will be provided with an extended ...learning opportunity. It’s always the little things that capture their attention the most.

06.01.2022 Recently we have changed our morning tea routine to support the children in further developing their self help skills. Children now, help themselves to the fruit, using tongs. Giving them a choice provides many benefits, it builds confidence and teaches them responsibility. Children also help themselves and pour their own cup of milk or soy milk. Our big Waratahs have adapted so easily to this new morning routine.

06.01.2022 ‘From little things, big things grow’ Throughout our days at Kindy, some of our little ones love spending time by the gardens. It’s such wonderful little process for them to be apart of. Their little faces always light up with joy and excitement when they spot new vegetables.

03.01.2022 ‘Sand and water play gives children an understanding of cause and effect relationships (predicting what will happen when water is added to the sand)’ Learning Outcome 4.4 Children resource their own learning through connecting with people, place, technologies and natural and processed materials.

03.01.2022 ‘Small world play’ As our little Blossoms have been interested in playing with the farm animals a lot lately, displayed on the table was a set up of a farmhouse/yard. With animals, farmhouse, tractor, feeding and water trays and a mud pit. We all enjoyed playing with the farmyard pretending to feed and give the animals a drink of water. Some animals had a bath too. The Pigs rolled around in the mud, the truck drove around the farm and the school bus even arrived to pick up the school kids. This was such a beautiful experience they enjoyed during their day yesterday.

03.01.2022 Providing the children with a variety of healthy and nutritious meals is something our wonderful cooks Miss Sam & Miss Hiro always think about. This morning while the children explored throughout their environment Miss Hiro collected some of our very own spring onion from the gardens - this of course was then washed, diced and added into to the children’s lunch. Fried rice and vegetable spring rolls were on the lunchtime menu for today. How lucky are we!

02.01.2022 Pegs attached to fluffy pom-poms and the use of a small muffin tray takes painting to a whole new level. We always love experimenting with different ways to paint. ‘Every child is an artist here at Whispering Gully Robina’
