25.01.2022 Character is created in a home when you consider the finer details. Here with our open plan living raked ceiling we chose to use natural timber lining boards (painted in Dulux Natural White). The natural boards have a character to their own, with knots and blemishes. The second photo is another option we could have used which is a boarded product with ridges. This in in the eaves of our garage (still unpainted!). It is for a more modern look with clean crisp lines.... Two different options with two different overall looks. Which would you choose?

24.01.2022 Before, during and after Needing a little more space? With smaller amounts of land available in Sunraysia for building new homes why not consider extending your current home?

23.01.2022 Happy Monday from our goofy Site Forman No.2, Carrie

23.01.2022 White Houses and Carpentry builds CUSTOM new builds as well as extensions and renovations For any new project architectural and engineering plans, soil classification and energy rating are required. This process can generally take anywhere from 4-8 weeks to be prepared.... Plans show the details on room sizes, windows, the location on the block along with lighting and plumbing plans. Changes to plans after they have been drafted can become costly especially if it effects the engineering and energy rating. Being a custom builder we understand this process can be daunting. We can assist in this process to help navigate your way through to find the perfect solution to suit your dreams and budget. After the plans are finalised we can then quote your project and start the process of contracts and permits.

22.01.2022 A builder is only as good as his trades, especially his painter! A great quality painter is worth every penny. Painting stage is coming along nicely at the Kitchen/living Reno + master extension. We are a bit bias with this beautiful deep blue it is the same Dulux Rainmaker as our kitchen island and front door at our home.... Painting by Faulkhead Painting Group

21.01.2022 Thinking of a patio or outdoor structure addition to your home? Did you know we are a dealer for Stratco Outback products? Outstanding quality and customisable to suit any space Even better when they are supporting such a great cause

20.01.2022 There are nearly as many flooring options as there are paint colours! Well almost Your consult with our flooring suppliers will go through all the pros and cons of each type of flooring as well as all the varieties of each type. It may seem daunting now but after our initial consult we go through what you like and what will be most practical for your lifestyle.... A current popular flooring is vinyl planks... yes vinyl... no it doesn’t look like the stuff that was installed 30-40 years ago. It has come a long way, trust me! Vinyl is softer than tiles or polished concrete, more textured than floating floor or natural timber and the easiest to maintain. And if an accident does happen you can simply pull up one board and don’t have to replace the whole flooring or pull up the whole flooring like floating or natural timber. This new home is currently getting a beautiful vinyl plank timber look floor this week

17.01.2022 Windy days inside has me reminiscing of when we built our beautiful home and when Barney was a young 4 year old running through the slab water We started building in March of 2016. We had moved in by the second week of December 2016! Jordan did as much as he could and we were out at the house everyday after work and every weekend but we loved every second.

16.01.2022 Hello Marble This kitchen renovation coming along nicely with the installation of the marble bench and splash back #whitehousesandcarpentry #whcmildura

13.01.2022 Some people don’t like Mondays. Not us. The end before Christmas Break is in sight. A busy week planned with some happy clients to receive keys to their new homes, renovations and extensions over the coming days. Ps. Also thought I better post proof that Harry actually does work

10.01.2022 It’s a family effort some days and it’s nice to find a spot out of the way to sit and relax

09.01.2022 Thumbs up it’s almost the weekend, and a weekend without tough restrictions! Country living to us is being active outdoors, gardening and most importantly spending time with family and friends. It is so nice to get out and about again away from the home. What are your plans around Sunraysia this weekend?... We are finally catching up with family and planning on taking the dogs for a big walk down the river.

09.01.2022 Another quality Stratco Outback structure being installed just in time for summer. Rafter reinforcing brackets installed yesterday Oh and we have a new team member! I’ll introduce you to him soon...

06.01.2022 Any of our clients who have been lucky enough to witness Jordan and Harry work would know they love to sing along to the radio but on the rare occasion you may find them striking a pose, dancing along to a favourite song! A few photos from when we had a fresh 1st year apprentice Harry. A unique deck for a great local Mildura client!

06.01.2022 What a way to finish off 2020 than to set out a new home to start in 2021 Who else is excited for 2021?

05.01.2022 We have had a couple of key hand overs this week in the final days before Christmas break. Check out the finished facade on the new home at Mildura Golf Course! Completed with a feature stone entrance way Can’t wait to show you some beautiful photos of this very special project in the new year!

05.01.2022 The trickiest part of renovations... mixing the old with the new! With this almost completed renovation, we continued timber decking at stairs between the new section and the existing outdoor area. Running the boards the opposite direction gives character by blending but also making sure it doesn’t look off by trying to match exactly with existing. ... After all you will never get the absolute exact matching with any treatment to existing natural products. Don’t fight it, blend it

03.01.2022 Get to know me (Abby) a little more... Well outside of being a builders wife! When I tell someone I am an agronomist about 90% of people have no idea what I do.... So I thought I would take a quick moment to describe what I do. I am currently employed as a Technical Manager for a local Sunraysia almond production company. The role entails taking on the responsibility of all decisions regarding the growing of the almonds. This means I plan, order and oversee all products used on farm, including water, fertiliser and sprays. I have worked solely with almonds for over 5 years and my current role means I can work remotely as well as regularly visit the orchards to monitor progress. So I get the best of both worlds spending more time with my daughter but also getting out in the fresh air doing what I love It’s not a job, it’s a lifestyle
