The council has been advised of this and as a result has taped off the footpath between the bottom of Flora Close and Waran Road. 10.01.2022 Today the year 7 Covid Cup finals were held at St. John’s oval. After 10 weeks of competition where teams battled it out in touch footy, netball and soccer it all came down to the top 4 teams in the AFL final series. The number 1 seed Troy played the 4th seed simp nation in the first semi final. Simp nation having fought hard in the final round of soccer to secure their place in the finals were outgunned by the always consistent minor premiers Troy. The second semi final w...as an exhilarating contest between number 2 seed CNS and number 3 seed Breadloafs. In a seesawing battle CNS come out on top in a nail biter to claim a place in the grand final. The grand final between Troy and CNS lived up to all the pre game hype. CNS got off to a flying start taking an early lead. However the minor premiers rallied to equalise in the late stages. Both teams battled hard to take the advantage but it was the class of Troy that prevailed in the end with several clutch goals to take out the inaugural Covid Cup. Congratulations to our 2020 Covid Cup Champions Troy. Well done to all teams for your participation, enthusiasm and sportsmanship throughout the tournament. A special thanks to all the students that assisted the teachers each week as officials and organisers.

09.01.2022 WORLD VISION DAY is held this Thursday November 26 at Whitebridge High. We are raising funds for the yearly sponsorship of EVA, a 10 year old girl from Uganda in Central Africa. Students have been sponsoring Eva for over 6 years now. Eva is 10 years old, loves playing with her friends and reading books. World Vision approaches communities in great need in third world countries, talk with the elders and discuss what their village or town needs. Based on this, they seek spons...orship for a certain number of children. World Vision generally works with the community for 10-15 years before they become self sufficient. This year, Eva's community, Buwunga, have benefitted from schooling, health education, life skills education and water supply construction. No longer do people have to walk long distances for water!. Thank you for your support. Students must remain in school uniform but can wear an orange accessory on Thursday. Gold coin donations will be accepted early in period 1. Students can buy a sausage sandwich at lunch time. $2 plain or$2.50 with onion. NO cupcake stall unfortunately due to Covid restrictions.

09.01.2022 Whitebridge High School participated in NAIDOC week, celebrating and recognising our Aboriginal history and culture. This years theme is 'Always Was, Always Will Be'. It is so important we build knowledge and understanding around our Aboriginal histories and pay respect to this culture. On the Monday and Tuesday all students participated in lesson starters exploring kinship, totems, language, communication and the disconnected lines created from living across two cultures. ...On the Wednesday all students participated in a Smoking Ceremony led by Uncle Nolan, with our Aboriginal leaders from each year group commencing the day with their own Acknowledgement of Country that they wrote in both Awabakal and English. Our Aboriginal dance group also performed for each year group sharing their knowledge of their own culture. Following, all students joined in a variety of activities including learning Awabakal language, Aboriginal dance, gardening bush tucker plants, making johnny cakes, painting and designing their own boomerangs, painting a whole school Aboriginal mural, making Lemon Myrtle cookies, engaging in traditional textiles and playing Indigenous sporting games.
