22.01.2022 Apparently this is how cable re-tractors get damaged???
17.01.2022 We're well and truly into a hot northwest NSW summer so your refrigerator's performance is vitally important. We tend to view our refrigerators as maintenance f...ree and in some cases this is true. Many fridges though require attention every 12 months to keep the beer cold, the power bills down and most importantly, to keep them alive in the summer heat. If your fridge has a cover at the bottom rear, it will probably have a fan cooled condenser coil behind it. This coil will collect dust. Likewise, the fan blades can lose efficiency when dust builds up on them. In extreme cases this can lead to system failure and the loss of your christmas shopping. For peace of mind, Give Whitegoods Whisperers a call. as little as $33 will keep your fridge in tip top working condition through the summer heat. See more
17.01.2022 Filters are an often neglected yet easily serviced component of your dishwasher. Beneath the stainless steel strainer is a fine gauze cylindrical filter which can become restricted with fibrous food matter and even suffer a buildup of slimy residue, particularly if lower temperature, faster wash cycles are used. Regular rinsing of filters under a tap and occasionally doing a hot wash cycle with an empty dishwasher, adding some vinegar for the wash cycle will leave your dishwasher looking like new inside.

11.01.2022 Is your fridge about to cost you? With Storm season approaching its worthwhile to inspect your fridge seals as a faulty or torn seal will allow humidity to enter and turn into ice in some costly places. Feel free to contact us regarding any questions you might have about your appliance.
11.01.2022 Its a good Idea to check your dryer for lint buildup, even if it doesnt result in a fire it can cause poor drying performance and increase your Electricity BILL. https://youtu.be/moj4ZRukv9E
09.01.2022 The Fisher And Paykel Smartdrive washing machine is a wonderful bit of laundry kit. A real credit to New Zealand innovation. It's like they thought "So we're getting rid of this mechanical timer... What else can we get rid of in the process? So they got rid of gear reduction and replaced it with software and a 3 phase inverter controlled permanent magnet motor. They got rid of the clutch assy and associated control and replaced it with a bowl that floats free of the agitator... when washing and re-engages with it when the bowl drains. The top and bottom rings on the drum are half full of water to help balance the load and when it spins, the software can vary the speed of the motor to finish the job. It's a clever little algorithm. Smartdrives shimmy rather than shake. Sometimes though, events can conspire to confuse the software. if the holes in the sides of the drum through which the water escapes become blocked with say, fabric softener, the sodden clothing acts as a de-facto 3rd balancing ring, which the software wasn't written to deal with. It's a funny old business to be in when a karcher pressure cleaner is the go to apparatus to repair a washing machine. See more

07.01.2022 Poor dishwasher performance is often caused by blocked or restricted spray arms and dirty filters. Many dishwashers only heat the water on it's way to the top spray arm so a blocked or restricted spray arm will affect heating as well as cleaning of items in the top rack.
06.01.2022 Have you ever wondered how your fridge works? At a basic level they all have a sealed system consisting of a Compressor, a condensor, a metering device, an evaporator (or two) and a charge of refrigerant. The means employed to control the temperature inside the refrigerator are where it gets interesting. Most fridges use a fan to circulate air through the fridge compartments where it absorbs heat and back through the evaporator where it loses heat. Top freezer fridges have a ...single evaporator and fan located in the freezer compartment (FC) and two air duct systems, one for each compartment. Air circulates through the freezer and produce compartment (PC) and returns to the evaporator through ducting built into the insulating foam in the freezer floor. generally speaking this type of fridge either has a thermostat or electronic temperature sensor in the freezer and an airflow control in the Produce Compartment or the thermostat / sensor in the PC and an airflow control in the freezer. Understanding the design of your fridge and Juggling these settings gives control over the temperature balance between the Freezer and the Produce compartment. For example, if the thermostat / sensor is in the freezer, increasing the airflow to the produce compartment will make it cooler without affecting the freezer temperature. If the thermostat is in the Produce compartment, reducing the airflow to the Produce compartment will drop the temperature in the freezer without reducing the minimum produce compartment temperature. 04.01.2022 Moving house can be stressful to your washing machine. Modern front load and top load washers have suspension, supporting their bowls on springs and dampers. under normal operation the suspension doesn't move much. The washing machine is designed to self balance during the spin cycle. On a road trip though, there is nothing to stop the bowl bouncing up and down repeatedly. This can lead to premature damper failure. When you unpack a new washer there is packing and/or hardwa...re which prevents this movement. Front Load washers have transit bolts which secure the bowl to the back of the machine. It's a good idea to keep these bolts, preferably somewhere near the machine so they don't get misplaced. Top Loaders have foam or cardboard packing under the lid to prevent the bowl moving around in transit. Keeping this packaging may not be desirable, but blankets and pillows can be quite effective as a substitute. Minimising the up and down /side to side movement of the bowl when moving long distances can save you hundreds of dollars in repairs. See more
