From bare bulbs to a decorative light fixture, ambient lighting can be styled however you like. ... Accent lighting: if you have a particular feature you want to make shine (excuse the pun) then accent lighting is the way to go. Recessed ceiling lights or even a strategic table lamp can bring attention to those .features, but make sure it’s at least 3 times brighter than your ambient lights. Task lighting: this essentially exists to make your life easier, giving you greater visibility in specific spots you know you’ll be doing tricky tasks in (think the kitchen or your study).
