22.01.2022 Hello everyone I feel the need to re post this important notice. We are glad that we have no community transmission for COVID-19 but DHS advice is still the same at this stage Anyone with cold like symptoms should get tested for COVID-19 and they should self isolate until the results come back negative. ... We noticed that some people are scared and worried they may not be seen if they tell our reception that they have cold like symptoms. We understand their fear but we have duty of care to our doctors, staff and vulnerable patients. We are able to help you without compromising everyone else. There is no difference between mild cold symptoms and Coronavirus symptoms. As doctors we can't differentiate without a swab test . People with Coronavirus can spread the disease without having any symptoms during the incubation period (which is the time between exposure to the virus till showing the symptoms) We can't test for Coronavirus in the clinic So HELP us protect our community 1- If you have Cold or Flu like symptoms call us and we will get one of our doctors to call you back.(We can only do Telehealth for our patients who was seen in the last 12 months as per Medicare legislation) 2- if you are unwell with COVID like symptoms and want to be seen, you can attend the Respiratory Clinic at Spring Gully or Bendigo Health. They are equipped to deal with patients with Respiratory symptoms 3- If you have Chronic health conditions or an elderly patient who is worried about coming to the clinic (only our clinic patients). Call us and we will arrange for one of our doctors to call you back. There are limited things we can do over the phone but we will do our best during this pandemic period. We also ask you to help us reduce the waiting room time. Let us focus on the most important issue you are worried about and leave the other small issues for other times. We don't want to sound unprofessional and caring but we are on a mission and would like to help everyone as much as we can and reduce the waiting time for every one. You can help us reduce the spread of the infection and We can help you to look after your health.

15.01.2022 Hello everyone We noticed that some people are scared and worried they may not be seen if they tell our reception that they have traveled overseas or they have cold like symptoms. We understand their fear but we have duty of care to our doctors, staff and vulnerable patients. We are able to help you without compromising everyone else. ... There is no difference between mild cold symptoms and Coronavirus symptoms. As doctors we can't differentiate without a swab test and with the current rate of infection spreading it will be knocking on our doors soon in Bendigo. People with Coronavirus can spread the disease without having any symptoms during the incubation period (which is the time between exposure to the virus till showing the symptoms) We can't test for Coronavirus in the Clinic and we can't simply order the test because your employer ask you to get tested. So HELP us protect our community 1- If you have traveled overseas you need to self isolate for 14 days. If you need any medical attention or script call us by the phone and we will get one of our doctors to call you back. 2- If you have traveled overseas or been in contact with someone arrived from overseas and has Cold or flu like symptoms call the DHHS line for advice 1800 675 398 3- If you have Cold or Flu like symptoms without travel risks call us and we will get one of our doctors to call you back. 4- If you have Chronic health conditions or an elderly patient who is worried about coming to the clinic (only our clinic patients). 06.01.2022 Hi everyone From tomorrow we are going to do Telehealth consultations for most of our patients to reduce the risk of spreading the infection. There is a limitation of what we can do via Telehealth and still some patients will need to attend the clinic ... but this will at least reduce the number of patients attending the clinic at the same time. We will try to roll out the flu vaccines as soon as they arrive. As the phones will likely be very busy, please use the following to book online www.whitehillsmedicalpractice.com.au or our Facebook page or email [email protected] and we will get back to you as soon as possible. Stay safe and our best wishes White Hills Medical Practice.

05.01.2022 We thank Bendigo Health for taking the proactive approach with dedicated area and staff to help and support patients with the current COVID-19 Pandemic. A Pandemic means a disease that has spread to multiple countries and infected many people. As this is a new virus to humans, WHO recommends to do our best to contain the infection and prevent its further spreading. Most people who gets infected with COVID-19 have mild symptoms and will be ok. They can safely stay at home. ... And in the same time not every one who sneezes or coughs have COVID-19. (Allergies, Asthma, common cold and influenza; have same symptoms) https://www.health.gov.au/healt/novel-coronavirus-2019-ncov Unfortunately, As a general practice we are NOT equipped to EXAMINE or TEST patients with suspected COVID-19. We don’t have protective gear or isolated rooms or test kits. So 1- For those who suspect they have COVID-19. Please call the DHHS hotline 1800 675 398. 2- Patients with Cold or flu like symptoms ( like cough, fever, sore throat) with or without history of travel or contacts with travellers. PLEASE CALL us first and we will organise one of our GPs to call you back and give you advice over the phone. 3- Not everyone can be tested for COVID-19 they have to meet certain criteria set out by the DHS. These criteria may change depending on the situation . 4- For those planning to travel, you need to follow the government recommendations . As you can see in the news, there are new travel bans imposed by different countries as the virus is spreading and you may be denied entry to a country and if you got unwell overseas the Australian government may not be able to help you overseas. https://www.smartraveller.gov.au/ We have an excellent health system in Australia and we can really help those who fall ill compared to any other country. We need to protect our staff and the vulnerable patients who are at higher risk of complications. So PLEASE CALL US on 54423761 ( or send us an email to [email protected])if you have any respiratory symptoms ( Fever, runny nose, cough) and we will help and support you as much as we can without compromising your care and other patients care.
