As I settle back into my studio after being away for a few weeks, I feel very proud of myself for being in business for just over 10 years @whitelacebrides. So a huge thank you to all my fabulous brides for helping me reach this awesome milestone.... Whether youve had alterations to make a dress yours or had YOUR Dream Dress made from scratch, I feel so honoured to have captured those heightened emotions of you, seeing your dress come to life in my studio has truly been a dream come true. 19.01.2022 Like it or not, there are five weeks left of listening to the sounds of Christmas carols playing in the shops. . Heres one version you wont be hearing !... Im dreaming of your white weddin dress... just like the one I did not know. . Not quite the right lyrics, but true story! . I did not have the white dress of my dreams on my wedding day and I have to admit.. I did not love my dress, with its high neckline, long sleeves and billowing babydoll skirt. Admittedly the champagne fabric was beautiful with gold embroidered detail and I do appreciate it was lovingly made by my mum (#bless). She was a fantastic dressmaker, so there was no question about who was going to make my dress. But.. she didnt take into account that it was supposed to be MY wedding dress. . Of course we took photos and made our memories but many decades later my wedding photos are still hidden at the bottom of a shoebox. . Thats the reason why I am so passionate about a bride looking beautiful, feeling like a princess and loving her dream dress...on her wedding day and for many years to come. . 17.01.2022 Dressmakers are impossible to replace. The machine world has tried to replace us, but, we are still here. While we seem to be in a dying trade, our work is more valuable than ever before. Dressmakers work hard to create perfected gowns and we are always craving to make something completely different. ... In my studio, I use a quarter scale set square which plays a part in helping me gauge the amount of fabric I require for each design.
