23.01.2022 At this time each year, usually at our MD 201 National Convention, the Australian Lions Foundation Board has great pleasure in inducting worthy Lions into the A...ustralian Lions Foundation Hall of Fame. These inductees are Lions who have served, and are still serving their community, not only through Lions but through many other avenues. We have great pleasure in announcing that this year's recipients are: PDG Anne Jones OAM (N4), PCC Ian Kelly OAM (W2), Lion Peter Boge (Q3) and PDG Bob Goldsworthy (Q3). Formal presentation will be made by the respective District Governors and State Directors at a suitable time in the future. Congratulations to all very worthy recipients. See more

20.01.2022 "It is better to be six feet apart that six feet under" That was the reply given by the lady governor of Michigan State in the USA when asked what she would say to those protesting against social distancing. A very apt reply and one we should all take heed of. Isolation is dull and it is boring but it is necessary. We have been lucky all of our governments have acted as one. That and our natural isolation has saved us from the devastation elsewhere in the world. Everyone will suffer economically in the short term but that will pass. The pain of losing a loved one to Covid 19 will not. Stay safe and keep washing you hands.

15.01.2022 Due to Covid 19 the Lions Club of Whitford has ceased all meetings and activities. We will be back stronger than ever when the lockdown ends and ready to meet what will be increased need in our community. Until then stay safe and remember...WASHY WASHY!

15.01.2022 The Whitford Lions helping out at the Army Museum concert in Fremantle. The Army Museum has a magnificent display that follows our military through the ages. It is well worth a look.

03.01.2022 A little Tail Twisting; Just as the pandemic was getting under way and before isolation began Lion Keith went fishing with his son. They caught a few fish and unfortunately Lion Keith also caught his finger. Upon arriving home with a fish hook firmly embedded in his finger Lion Keith was bundled into the car and Lion Jan drove him to the Joondalup Hospital emergency center. Due to the emerging pandemic the entrance to the emergency center was guarded by a nurse in gloves a...nd mask whose job it was to make sure you had a genuine reason for being there. She asked Lion Keith what his emergency was and he replied "I have a fish hook in my finger. She then asked "How do you feel?" Lion Keith who had spent forty two years as a commercial fisherman said "A little bit Silly". The nurse replied "I meant health wise, do you have a temperature, have a cough, been in contact with anyone with coronavirus?" Lion Keith, feeling even sillier, answered the questions and was finally allowed in to have the hook removed. See more
