19.01.2022 Emotions come in all shapes and sizes. The most important thing we can do as parents is to validate our childrens feelings. Help your child navigate their... emotions and go from being reactive to being responsive. Dont solve their probleminstead, redirect their focus so they can arrive at the root of whats causing that feeling and derive a reasonable action plan to address it. Small tweaks can make all the difference when raising resilient little ones with a growth mindset.

07.01.2022 How powerful are these rephrased sentences? Curious Parenting illustrates that even when our judgements are positive "good effort!" evaluation can lead chil...dren to think they can only fail or succeed in meeting our expectations. Using language free of judgement and evaluation can create a safe emotional environment for children to feel free to express themselves. . . . Image description Observation without evaluating: Instead of "You were so good at the store today," try "Our trip to the store felt so peaceful today." Instead of "That sound is really annoying," try "That sound is hard for me to listen to." Instead of "You never clean up your toys," try "I put all the Lego away by myself the last 2 nights." Instead of "You take everything for granted," try "I was disappointed to hear you didnt like the costume I made for you." Instead of "Youre eating like a pig," try "Your sleeve is getting covered in sauce." Instead of "Youre so good at painting, this picture is amazing," try "You used so many different shades of green for the trees." Instead of "You always take toys from your sister," try "The last 3 toys Clara has picked up, youve wanted to play with too." Instead of "If you keep acting like that, no one is going to want to play with you," "You are holding all the play-doh and Erik is crying."
