Our dedicated team works towards reducing violence in our community through education, counselling and support. With offices in Cannonvale and Bowen, we also provide outreach services to Collinsville, Hamilton Island and soon Proserpine. We seek a full-time qualified and experienced practitioner to be based in o...ur Bowen office to join our dedicated team. As a Counsellor/Therapeutic Case Manager, you will provide therapeutic case management and counselling across our programs of domestic and family violence, sexual assault, historic sexual abuse, as well as working with families, children and young people who are at risk of abuse or neglect through our Intensive Family Support program. The position offers the opportunity to work across various multifaceted scopes and includes both in-house and outreach work. In addition, you will also be providing Court support, engaging and developing relationships with community networks as well as partaking in community-based events and community educational opportunities. Salary range $72k - $85k based on qualifications and experience. Tertiary qualification in Social Work/Counselling/Psychology Behavioral Sciences required. Applicants need to currently have or working toward membership with AASW, APS or ACA. Blue Card (QLD clearance to work with children) National Criminal History Check before commencement. Leave any "why" questions or investigations to the experts your job is to support this person. Be careful not to interpret calmness or a lack of visible distress as a sign that the event did not occur. Everyone responds to traumatic events differently. The best thing you can do is believe them.
