21.01.2022 We are living through a time which in generations to come will be looked back on as a very sad chapter in the worlds history. The only things over which we have any control are how we react to this and how we treat each other. Our doctors, nurses and staff have met today and made the decision to Bulk Bill all our regular existing patients until July 1st. Whilst we are a small business ourselves and dedicated to our staff and the highest quality service, we are very aware o...f the severe financial difficulty so many of our patients are suddenly faced with. We hope this will prevent any patients delaying treatment or attending hospital because of financial constraints, and we thank our patients for showing the respect and understanding we have seen throughout all the changes we have made to protect staff and patient safety. Our doctors and nurses are all committed to continuing to see patients, and we have commenced trialing home consulting with several doctors this week, and are prepared for fully phone or Skype consulting if there are further restrictions. One way or the other we will be here See more

21.01.2022 CORONAVIRUS UPDATE (COVID-19) The WFP Team has been closely following the COVID-19 situation. WFP is offering Telephone Consultations as well as Skype Consultations for our Patients who have been advised to self-isolate as well as for our Patients who would prefer not to attend WFP in person. This service will attract a Private Fee and currently there is no Medicare Rebates available for phone or Skype consultations in this situation. ... WFP will be running a Patient self-collection clinic and brief assessment for our high-risk Patients. To ensure our Staffs protection, there will be minimal Patient contact for our Doctors and Nurses with P95 masks. This will be a bulk billed clinic for those Patients who fit the criteria. For further information and triage, we are asking all Patients to contact the Practice on 4948 3323. CURRENT RECOMMENDATIONS Please contact the Clinic immediately if you are experiencing any flu like symptoms! Wash your hands with soap and water often and dry hands thoroughly. Cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue or the inside or your elbow. Throw away used tissues straight after and wash your hands. Keep your distance from those who are coughing or sneezing. Currently if you are well, there is no evidence that wearing a facemask will stop you from catching a virus like Coronavirus, so if you are well, no mask is needed. Keep updated via the Queensland Health Facebook page or by calling 13 HEALTH.

21.01.2022 Coronovirus Update We have made some recent changes at the Practice in line with the rapidly changing COVID-19 situation. As a Surgery, Management have decided to help keep all Patients and Staff safe. We will no longer be seeing flu-like symptoms in the surgery unless medically urgent (eg. unwell children, suspected chest infections). We are offering telephone based consultations for all Patients. Whilst operating under strict Medicare & Government criteria, we will en...sure that each Patient's expectations are still met. Private fees may apply for telephone/video consultations. Please contact Reception on 4948 3323 for further information We have closed our waiting room to everyone. We are asking all Patients to wait in their car and to contact us when they arrive for their appointment to receive further instructions. This helps us all exercise social distancing within the community. Whilst working closely with Centre Management, we have been able to secure dedicated car parking for our Patients close by to ensure the most efficient check-in process. We are no longer able to swab for COVID-19 at the Practice. We are asking all Patients who wish to be tested for COVID-19 phone ahead to Proserpine Hospital and to follow all directions given by their medical team. Finally, we would like to personally thank all of our Patients and local community for the continued support whilst we navigate through this difficult time. As always, our goal is to keep our Patients and Staff safe at all times.

14.01.2022 As many of our patients are aware, Dr. Emma is currently on personal leave. She has asked us to pass on the following message to all of her patients: I would like to apologise to any of my patients that have had to be rescheduled during my absence. I have been on unexpected urgent personal leave to be with my family, because at the end of August there was an organ donor match and my Dad underwent a bilateral lung transplant. He is currently recovering in hospital, and is in... very good hands. Many of my long term regular patients that were aware of my Dad’s health have guessed what has occurred and sent their well wishes, and I have appreciated each and every one of them. I am also constantly in awe of the calibre of the team that I work with at WFP, and am incredibly grateful for them in covering my absence and allowing me to be where I needed to be. I am looking forward to getting back to work, and seeing everybody soon. Dr. Emma is currently in mandatory quarantine after returning from interstate. Once her quarantine period is complete (and there are no Covid-19 surprises!), we will be very happy to welcome her back to the clinic!
