17.01.2022 Tenosynovitis is where a tendon and the sheath covering it become inflamed and thickened. Often there is also extra fluid and increased blood flow. Ultrasound is the perfect tool to determine which tendon is inflamed and help guide the treatment.

16.01.2022 If your newborn is projectile vomiting (across the room type vomiting) it could be an emergency. The pylorus is the end of the stomach and sometimes this muscle becomes thickened not allowing fluid to pass through. An ultrasound measures this muscle to check for thickening.

12.01.2022 Even if you are having the Harmony or Generation blood test to check your baby's chromosomes, it is still important to have your 12 week ultrasound. This ultrasound checks your baby's anatomy including the brain, heart, stomach, kidneys, spine and limbs.

12.01.2022 Enlarged veins in your pelvis can contribute to ongoing pelvic pain. This pain is usually worse by the end of the day and some patients describe it 'like having a brick in your pelvis'. An ultrasound can assess these veins around the uterus and ovaries. This is condition is called Pelvic Congestion Syndrome.

10.01.2022 Ladies, if you have heavy feeling in your pelvis which is worse by the end of the day, incontinence, pain with intercourse and varicose veins in your legs it may be due to pelvic congestion syndrome. Pelvic congestion syndrome occurs if the blood flow in the ovarian veins flows in the wrong direction into the pelvis and not out of the pelvis. An ultrasound can asses the direction of this flow.
