14.01.2022 Planning is underway for the new Plenty River Trail that will deliver the missing link in between University Hill (Bundoora) in the south and Doreen in the north. It will also link to the new Mernda and Hawkstowe railway stations and enhance community access into Plenty Gorge Park. People are now encouraged to provide ideas for the new Plenty River Trail. They will be accepting ideas and feedback for the first round of engagement until Sunday 15 December at the Engage Victoria web site. https://engage.vic.gov.au/plenty-river-trail https://www.facebook.com//a.1482270852372/3599528830107050

10.01.2022 The Community Relations Team of the M80 Upgrade Project advises there'll be a temporary closure of a section of the Western Ring Path between Sydney Road and Mahoneys Road (nearly to Merri Creek) to install underground infrastructure for the Smart Freeway Management Systems. The closure of this section of path will be in place from 7am Monday 9 November 2020 through to 6pm Friday 18 December 2020. A temporary detour along Birchwood Street, Leighton Crescent, Hedley Street and... Sydney Road service lane will be implemented to maintain connectivity between Merri Creek Trail and Western Ring Path. Access to Kathryn Street overpass will remain via Eva Court. Electronic signage has been installed along the Shared User Path advising users of the closure. Wayfinding signage will be installed prior to the closure. See the attached images for details. Text of the images is added in a comment.

09.01.2022 Major Road Projects Victoria (MRPV) is working on three main projects in City of Whittlesea. The projects include: Bridge Inn Road Upgrade (https://roadprojects.vic.gov.au/pro/bridge-inn-road-upgrade) Childs Road Upgrade (https://roadprojects.vic.gov.au/projects/childs-road-upgrade) Epping Road Upgrade (https://roadprojects.vic.gov.au/projects/epping-road-upgrade)... The above links also take you to an interactive map which provides a more visual look at what the projects will look like once complete. All projects have shared walking and cycling paths along the entire length of the upgrade. In addition, Epping Road also has a stretch of on-road bike lanes. All three projects will be completed by 2025. More information about individual timings for each upgrade will be provided soon by MRPV. Sign-up to their subscriber lists, available at those links, if you’re keen to keep up to date on the project milestones. See more
