10.01.2022 Massive announcement for Year 12 VCE students today! This has been such a challenging year for all Victorian students, particularly our year 12s in their final ...year. Students, and parents, have been understandably concerned about the impact of Coronavirus on their VCE study scores and ATAR ranking. In a year like no other, we’ve responded in an unprecedented way. Today we announced that every student will be individually assessed and any adverse impacts of Coronavirus will be reflected in students’ final VCE study scores and ATAR ranking. In a normal year, individual students are assessed for special consideration on a case by case basis. This year, schools will provide the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority (VCAA) with information on every single one of their students. Schools will be asked to rank their students on both where they are at now and where they would have been had it not been for COVID-19 -- and why. Data will be collected from every school across the state including on previous assessments and used alongside the GAT and exams to adjust VCE scores accordingly. This may include assessing the individual impact of coronavirus on each student, including school closures, direct impacts on the health of a student, students dealing with substantial extra family responsibilities, ongoing issues with remote learning and mental health challenges. These reforms will reach every Year 12 VCE student in the state, ensuring the experiences of the class of 2020 are factored into their results. Every VCE student can go in to their exams with the confidence knowing they will not be disadvantaged by Coronavirus. I want every VCE student to keep focusing on their upcoming exams and have the motivation to strive to do their best in those final year examinations! We are doing everything we can to support you.

02.01.2022 RMIT's SNAP team is very excited to share with you their new and improved Reach Further website! Funded by the Australian Government, Reach Further is designed to show students in Years 9-12 what studying at university is all about, and what they should consider when deciding whether university is for them. We know that going to uni is a big life decision, and can involve some tough choices about which course or career to pursue, making new friends, and even moving away from ...home. But the process of thinking about university starts even earlier, and there are things that students in Years 9 and 10 can do to ensure they have plenty of options once they hit Year 12 - even if that seems like a long way away! https://sites.rmit.edu.au/reachfurther/
