20.01.2022 Black Dog Ride visit to Proserpine and Daddy's 70th Birthday!

20.01.2022 A review by Traverse Magazine February March 2019: Who Are You? Isn’t so much a book about motorcycling but rather the reflections of the author and his travelling companion Chloe on the life they shared with Ken Eaton’s wife Sue. Ken writes of his life, and loss, as his wife and he went through one of the most insidious of diseases; dementia. Through verse and poems, beautifully written from the heart, while Ken and his little mate, Chloe, travel Australia, the story of wh...at a dementia sufferers family goes through is thoughtfully told. Who Are You? Is the perfect example of how the solitude of motorcycle travel can open your mind, help you reflect, collect your thoughts, and discover more than you ever realised. Through tragedy, Ken has managed to do what many travelers hope to achieve and has opened his heart. His little mate, Chloe, has no doubt helped a great deal, even ‘writing’ her own piece of the story; Chloe’s ‘input’ input into the Who are You? Story is simply beautiful and a thoughtful way of narrating the story. Who Are You? Is a short book that tells a massive story, it will have you smiling and crying, it will have you thinking, reflecting a thankful for what you have. You’ll finish it, put it down and almost immediately pick it up again. Each time it reveals a little more of the story shared between Sue, Ken and Chloe. A simply beautiful little book! www.traverse-magazine.com Daddy and I recommend this fantastic magazine for both bike and non bike adventurers.

16.01.2022 Around Australia Riders, Ken and Chloe Eaton are looking forward to their very first National Black Dog Ride experience. Here's what Ken had to say: My motorbik...e travels started after losing my wife, and Chloe’s mum, to younger onset dementia twelve years ago after a downward spiral that lasted six years. A time that started with the positive outlook that I can handle this to the despair of placing a person you love into a hospital to prepare for a life in a nursing home, and seeing that person’s life fade away within three months. My support during that time was a wonderful friend that had lost her husband, and my good friend, to suicide a few years earlier and to be able to talk and share our dark moments together as we managed to get through those lonely periods. Why my friend Alan could not share his darkness remains a mystery to us. After my wife Sue passed away, my daughters gave me an option of either buying a motorbike, a lifelong passion of mine, or getting a girlfriend, I brought a motorbike. I would miss Sue’s little companion dog, Chloe, each time I would ride so quickly developed a little travel pod for her and we have travelled the roads together ever since. Motorbike riding is a wonderful place to reflect, and along with involvement with the fantastic group of the Ulysses Motorbike Club, I have happily survived a dark period of my life. My reflections led me to establish a small charity called ‘I Ride With Chloe To Fight Dementia’ to raise awareness to the battle carers go through as their love ones forget the things and those around them. Over the years on the bike, Chloe and I have hosted a travel blog, (iridewithchloe.com) and written and published a small book called ‘Who Are You reflections of a dementia survivor’, hopefully to show and give hope that there is life after despair. Friends of mine recently lost their son, Leon, to depression and I see the daily pain in their faces so Chloe and I are dedicating this ride to our old friend Alan and our friend’s son, Leon. I am excited to hopefully be able to share to others my experiences as suffer and survivor of one of the many forms that depression can take, and help this great charity, the Black Dog Ride, so please come and Ride With Chloe To Fight The Black Dog.

01.01.2022 On the way home from our trip to Mornington daddy to a some photos of the silos at Coonalpyn SA. We by passed Kimba and missed the silos there and it was a bit dark at Merredin to take a photo there. Dad has done some research to find out where the silos are for our next trips. They are all on this map link so you can take photos as well. http://bit.ly/2I2IbxY Cheers... Chloe (www.iridewithchloe.com) See more
