22.01.2022 4) TWO ROOSTERS NEEDS FOREVER HOMES. I got a message from a concerned man (Michael) who said these boys have been dumped in Peninsula Street, Hastings Point, where he lives. They are hanging out around the homes at number 1 which has 3 town houses on it. The people there do not have hens & certainly cannot keep them. We do need someone who can please give these boys a forever home to head on down there, catch them & give them a home they deserve. As there is no contact number to call, please do leave a comment on this post, if you intend to help these two boys. Thank you. Julie

20.01.2022 From Mother Clucker, Suzanne & her daughter Tobsha. Tell me this isn't the cutest thing?! Tobsha makes felt stockings with their initials on every year and hangs them where they roost. They get a tiny bag full of 70% dark vegan choc. chips in their stocking. They LOVE it!!
18.01.2022 1) ROOSTERS NEED FOREVER HOMES. BRISBANE OR I CAN BRING THEM DOWN SOUTH TO BALLINA (when doing rehoming day in Brisbane on Sunday 13th December). Jessica needs to find a home for both her boys - preferring them to find a home together. Only email Jessica directly, if you are interested or have any questions. [email protected] Tim is the black one and stuart is the white one, absolutely beautiful boys, love cuddles if they can be caught. They are 1 year old ...and need to be rehomed togethor. They have never been seperated and if one gets out at night they both stress extremely. They where both rescued by myself and raised to be the amazing boys they are today. We live in park ridge brisbane and I can travel up to 30kms to meet there new owners, I'd love to be able to see the places that they could live together. It's that time of year where they are now wanting mates, and I believe it's unfair for them to not be able to have and do so. Since this mating season has started both boys are quite intimidating and will happily have a go at you, I'm currently walking around with a stick so they dont attack me, but once picked up they sit beautifully in your hands and live there cuddles. They have warm corn in the afternoons and water continuous, as well as the dry feed continuous and are free range roosters that get locked up at night (currently with a 2 year old they are locked up as they want to fight the kids due to mating) otherwise safe around children, great with dogs and cats (if there animals are ok and not aggressive). They are my boys but they deserve a family so it's time for them to have one and live happier See more

17.01.2022 Battery hens feathers, featherless. Beautiful souls.
16.01.2022 Tell us your story of animals you love and have rescued! It'll help many more of us know how much kindness there is in our world! When times feel sad and you wonder if you make a difference, look back on the lives you help & the people who love you. This beautiful painting was gifted to me by my God Daughter Lucy (I like to be called her Fairy God Mother, as it has a better dress ups feeling to it). I looked at this today and remembered the small things that make a diff...erence. This beautiful painting helped me today. This was painted over 5 years ago, when I had just 8 rescued hens (and a rescued dog, cat and horse), was working in a heavy duty corporate role, thinking about the day I could do more for animals. Today I have helped nearly 2,500 hens find their forever homes (as well as 13 horses, 15 roosters & 1 cat) as well as expanded my family to include many more rescued friends - 79 hens (39 of which are in hen hospital), 2 pigs (Sue & Xena), 7 guinea fowl, 2 dogs (Nahla & Bodhi), 3 cows (Minnie Moo, Bolo & Kali-Mar) and 1.5 horses (Monty & Victor who is a teeny weeny horse). It's good to look back to see how we have moved forward. Thank you everyone for your kindness to animals. xxJ

12.01.2022 4 hospital hens now up with me at The Dome. Bella & Ruby, the older residents ignoring newcomers Sally & Maude. It takes time to make new friends
11.01.2022 Battery hen hairstyle. Sweeping comb ready for the sun!
11.01.2022 Read about some of our forever homes for our rescued battery (caged) hens! From Mother Cluckers Jason & Simon: The 3 new girls are going well. They have become Phyllis, Dulcie, and Persephone (goddess of grain!) There’s still some pecking order business to be finalised with our other 2 girls, as well as some roosting orders to be confirmed, but I think they’ll be fine in the end.... Our timid little Persephone finds herself at the bottom of the order so we keep our eye on her and look forward to offering extra love when she’s ready. I’ve included a pic here of Phyllis who loves to see us each day. Today she thought she was a dog and climbed up on Simon’s lap for a pat. Can you believe it on Day 7? The other pic is our big Norma, one of our first rescue girls, showing off on the practise perch we set up for the new girls
11.01.2022 Support our Charity. Buy a Tee, Apron, Tote Bag or make a hospital hen donation! You've rescued a chook or two, so now 'Double Up on the Feel Good' and help us look after all our hospital hens. Please check out our shop online. Ethical fashion that looks after all people, the environment and hens! https://whogivesacluck.org/shop/
10.01.2022 Love this woman & her sanctuary (in Victoria) If you can support her & buy a calendar showing the story behind her rescued friends, please let her know it's because you do give a cluck!
10.01.2022 When you come home from taking one hen to the vet for an operation, to find 5 of my hospital hens cornered by this predator! Quick work by Nahla, my animal security dog, alerting me to the danger & all hens safe! How he got into this separate little secure area is a mystery. I've relocated the girls now just in case he tries again while Nahla is out with me. Phew!! What a day. #goanna #henpredator #hospitalhens
09.01.2022 Read about some forever homes for our battery hens From Suzanne & Tobsha: Here we are in our t-shirts with Fleur and Petal. They are definitely part of the gang already. Super cute and constantly seeking us out for company and a little food treat. We love them!!
07.01.2022 3) ROOSTER NEEDS FOREVER HOME. ALTSONVILLE OR I CAN BRING HIM UP NORTH TO BRISBANE (when doing rehoming day in Brisbane on Sunday 13th December) OR SOUTH TO GRAFTON (5th December). 06.01.2022 Blooper!! Having fun in Grafton!!!
06.01.2022 Battery hens feet. Broken or ligament damage from walking on wire with long toe nails but not even that stops these girls walking proud!!
05.01.2022 Thank you to all our Grafton volunteers today, who are also Mother Cluckers - Robyn, Joan & Louise. Lots of learning today about heakthchecks & our semi feathered battery hen friends. & a big shout out to Carly, our wonderful supporter, who popped in to bring us coffee, a ball for Nahla & layer on, ice to help keep us all cool. I say it a lot but good things cannot be said enough - I love this community. Xxj
04.01.2022 Read about some forever homes for our rescues battery hens. From Christina, Mother Clucker: The chooks have taken over Elroy the young rooster's house/bedroom and are going well. They've not figured out to roost yet, and Elroy can't show them as he won't go back in now of a night due to being hen-pecked the first day. Luckily he could escape onto the roosts at that time, but the next day I thought he'd be stuck up there as every time he came off one of his perches, they'...d be after him, and he'd high-tail it back up. Got him out eventually (without any of them getting out). Came time to put him in for the night ... NO WAY, Hosè! Hoping he'll be safe where he's chosen to sleep and hopefully he'll go back in his 'room' once the girls are integrated. See more
04.01.2022 Read about some of our forever homes for our rescued battery (caged) hens! From Mother Clucker Ali: Our girls are past the worst of it and have started venturing outside more and more each day. They like the safety of the coop but seize the opportunity for a roam too. Sox is the most adventurous but really likes to hang with us. They don’t like the rooster or the goose or the cats or the other clucky hens but all in all, girls are all going well
04.01.2022 This is the pecked back of a battery hen. Shae butter love.
