24.01.2022 I hadn't planned on getting up at dawn this morning. But as soon as I heard a neighbour playing the last post on guitar, I crawled out of bed and stood looking out the window at the few patches of candlelight across hill, lighting up the dark. I listened to this beautifully stirring rendition almost like a harp and reflected on how very lucky we are. We are not at war... and (hopefully) having missed much of the suffering of other nations overseas, we have much to be tha...nkful for. Today, as we mark Anzac Day from our driveways and balconies (or bedroom windows), let us be grateful for all who protected us in the past, and those who are working hard to protect us today. Lest we forget.

23.01.2022 No, I don't have a sourdough starter going, nor would I ever have the patience to do this. But... pretty bread!! Try to allow yourself some "white space" during this time to unlock your creativity. You might be surprised what amazing and beautiful things you can achieve. PS. 09.01.2022 Today is World Environment Day. With all that is going on in our world at the moment, let us take a moment to reflect on what that means to us here in Australia... I live in Wurundjeri country. Although it was never mentioned at the time, I was also born and raised in Wurundjeri country. ... I cannot claim to fully understand or appreciate the deep connection that our Indigenous peoples have with country, but I do feel some of it. I have always felt this connection, and the more I have travelled to the wild, remote places on Planet Earth, and become more involved in environmental projects locally, the deeper this connection has grown. As an eternal optimist, despite current events I believe that we are being drawn towards this connection with the earth. Just seeing the hundreds (possibly thousands) of people visiting my local area the Dandenong Ranges in the past couple of weekends post lock-down, gives me hope that we are now waking up to how much we need the natural environment in our lives. And how much we need our Indigenous peoples to teach us how to understand and care for it. Let this be our chance to learn... as our future PROSPERITY depends on it.

04.01.2022 FINDING JOY IN CONNECTION I'll be honest, I've hesitated sharing this photo with you... in these challenging times, there can be a tendency to feel like you have to be serious, or "thoughtful", or highly sensitive to others' feelings. And yes, on one hand, you do. But there is also JOY - even in the darkest times!... For me, this photo captures it perfectly... This was my favourite pic from a last minute shoot held before we went into further lockdown. Without a professional photographer readily on hand (a big thank you to Fiona Rhodes Design for taking up the iPhone photography challenge), or a proper hair and makeup person to "highlight" my best features, we made do. It came about because my Motivating Mum BizMumsClub would NOT let me off the hook for a task I have been putting off for...um... years(!!)... because it wasn't the perfect season, or I was recovering from an injury, or I hadn't saved for the "ultimate" personal branding package. This is ACCOUNTABILITY at its best!! It's also a celebration of my wonderful She Will Shine business network, who continue to provide daily support and connection online of course. I never wear branded t-shirts normally, but I wear this one with pride! Together with Amanda Freeman - Inspire Natural Therapies' Empowering You Mastermind program, I am absolutely SURROUNDED by wonderful connections and support for my biz to not just survive this pandemic, but to GROW through it. Why wouldn't I be happy? REMEMBER: While things aren't perfect right now, there is much JOY to be had if you choose to look for it. And CONNECTION is a fantastic way to find it! (PS.
