25.01.2022 The great duck migration - Lake Conjola

23.01.2022 Trying out the new Barra Boosta lures from Chomp Lures at the YBFC Lake Conjola benchmark comp. Unsurprisingly no barras were caught. But the big land locked lake tailor liked them.

23.01.2022 Bent Minnow Lures, a great new way to catch a variety of species from tailor and salmon, to bream, whiting, flathead and more. Heres a few of Marks many captures.

22.01.2022 Top conditions for the first YBFC fishing comp for the season, the heaviest fish comp. Some good fish caught, some good fish lost. I didnt manage to catch any monsters, but did get some nice fish for dinner.

21.01.2022 For me the best moment of the YBFC Port Hacking comp was Jackson catching his first leather jacket. As we dropped anchor at our first spot, Jacko decided to hook into a large chicken shnitzel and salad roll. I started fishing, whilst letting him know that when you go fishing you have to fish first and eat later after you catch a few fish. Naturally he ignored my advice and polished off the roll along with a myriad of other snacks and a chocolate milk. Meanwhile I tried my be...st to catch a nice jacket to prove my point. Unfortunately all I could manage to catch was some ugly wrasse, whipper snappers and every other undersized fish in the area. Jackson finally cast his first bait after about 30 minutes of munching and pulled out his first leather jacket about 30 seconds later! See more

21.01.2022 1st YBFC fishing comp of the season was a Port Hacking comp which produced some good fish for a few of the boys including some nice jewfish, but for me just a small snapper caught up Southwest arm. No monster but 39cm for the river is not bad and beautifully cooked by my wife! Weather was much better than forecast too.

21.01.2022 YBFC Port Hacking Comp turned up plenty of fish and competitors, even with the standard issue southerly coming through for the comp!. Hats was back at his winning best and even though his point score was short of his all time record, his 11 species capture is an all time record! Ricks 7.1kg monster flattie was a standout capture that was photographed and released.

21.01.2022 Some big leather jackets from the last YBFC fishing comp

18.01.2022 Freshly cooked fish straight to your table

18.01.2022 YBFC heaviest fish comp didn't turn up anything big on our boat, but we did catch a few bream and snapper.

17.01.2022 Botany Bay YBFC comp turned up some nice Jewies today. Mine was the smallest at around 8lb, but I was stoked. Fortunately the east coast low pressure system was no where near as bad as forecast by the Bureau and there was almost no other fishing boats on the bay, other than those fishing the comp. Dave

16.01.2022 Winter time & the black drummer are starting to fire up. This 2.5kg fish was hooked in less than a metre of water. They go pretty hard in the shallows.

16.01.2022 A few fish from the recent YBFC Port Hacking comp

14.01.2022 Tarwhine in the shallows

14.01.2022 Conditions were perfect at South Cronulla where I fished the YBFC rock comp on Saturday, but not too many fish around. Caught a nice bream at sunrise.

14.01.2022 YBFC heaviest fish comp didnt turn up anything big on our boat, but we did catch a few bream and snapper.

13.01.2022 Nice bream caught at dusk in the YBFC species comp today. Not many fish around but at least conditions were good and the forecast rain didnt eventuate.

13.01.2022 We recently held our annual YBFC Lake Conjola fishing comp, which is an area that was badly affected by the bush fires. It was good to help put some money into the local economy, which has been badly affected. The landscape has changed, but it is definitely still a fantastic destination, which I encourage those who have never been to visit, once we get past the Covid19 pandemic.

07.01.2022 Throwing a few lures off the rocks at the YBFC Kiama Rock Comp. The hard body Barra Boosta lures by Chomp Lures were getting slammed by bonito and salmon! https://wholesalefishingsupplies.com.au/chomp-lures-barra-/

05.01.2022 New Chomp Lures centre weighted knife jigs available in a couple of different designs in 5 colours. Great option where you want a slower sink rate than a tail weighted jig. Great for kingfish, samson fish and big snapper as well as coral trout and cod.
