25.01.2022 This is so perfect right now! I'm pretty sure for the last 26 Monday's I've told myself, "Today's the the day I start my way to healthier and leaner," only to go hard for 5 days and then the weekend hits and yep, you guessed, my hard work unravels I love this saying because it puts a smile on my face and makes me realise that giving it a go, and not giving up is still great! Good intentions matter Well this week is number 27 where I made the same pledge. BUT, this time,... I mean it Let's see what the weekend brings Anyone else feel me, or need this quote on their fridge door to make them laugh? The best thing about life, is there's always tomorrow

24.01.2022 I'll eat a bowl of sweet potato gnocchi any day The recipe for these bad boys was on my story yesterday. Hope you checked it out. They were beautifully paired with this roast tomato and garlic sauce, topped with fresh basil. ... So simple and healthy - why overcomplicate life? The Italians have got this sorted haven't they?

21.01.2022 I often get asked if my kids are plant-based and if so what they eat. And the common question, "Where do they get their protein?" When I moved to a predominantly plant-based diet 13 years back, I knew one day my husband and I would have to make a choice for our kids. Our two kids are mostly plant-based. They do enjoy dairy and eggs from time to time and very occasionally fish. When my youngest was born 9 years ago, I must say there was a bit of judgement around our decisi...on. I'm pretty sure some people thought we were just plain mean and others a little worried for their health and safety Fast forward to today, and things have somewhat changed and the idea is not so crazy The decision was not one we took lightly. We did loads of research and to this day make sure they are eating a balanced diet and getting all the protein and vitamins they need. Their diet consist of loads of legumes, vegetables (the range they eat is improving but hasn't always been great), lots of fruit, pasta, pizza, loads of soups, nuts and dried fruits, and a few treats here and there. They are healthy little humans and they tell me they love being vegetarian. As they grow up, they'll decide what's right for them, and we're totally okay if they decide to introduce meat into their diet. I'm just stoked that this way of eating has become more acceptable and people are being educated on the benefits on a plant-based diet. I'd love to hear from you guys. Are your kids plant-based and how does it work for them and you?
21.01.2022 Sometimes I crave, fresh, healthy raw foods and rice paper rolls would have to be my go to. I've had two serves already this week. These are filled with carrot, cucumber, avocado, cabbage, mint, corriander and tofu. Dipping sauce is always tough as they are usually very refined and loaded with sugar. I've paired them up this time with @mamamelisse hot sauce and it was such a great combo. Right amount of heat and balanced well with just the right sweetness. Chilli lovers - be sure to check out Mama Melisse

18.01.2022 Ive always been a huge fan of extra virgin olive oil in my salads and stayed clear of most other oils. BUT, Ive recently come across this incredible 100% organic Argan Oil @youforher and am blown away at how incredible it is. I used it to make a dressing for an ordinary green salad and with the use of this oil there was nothing ordinary about this salad. The oil is smooth and has a delicious nutty flavour about it. To top if off, the nutritional benefits of this oil pac...k a punch too. High in nutrients such as Vitamin E as well as loaded with antioxidants and essential fatty acids. Dressing below 2 tablespoons Argan oil 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice 1 tablespoon tahini 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard 1 teaspoon salt If you're keen to try it out you can grab yourself 10% off at www.youforher.com with the offer code ARGANLOVE10 or check out and follow @youforher I'll be sharing more ways to use this oil in my stories over the coming week so stay tuned.
17.01.2022 *Warning - today's post totally unrelated to food getting deep this Sunday* It's only now in my mid forties, that I feel I've truly found my groove. I've just finished teaching my Indian master-class and I'm on a high. We search in our mid twenties and thirties to find our calling; our life's purpose. And I admit, I thoroughly enjoyed these decades, but when I reflect, I realise alot of the time I was going through the motions, ticking off a to do list of all the things I ...was 'supposed' to do. Or just confused at times, not sure what I wanted to do or where I wanted to go. And I know I'm not alone in this sentiment. My beautiful sister in this pic, who turned 50 this year has recently started a new business in photogrpahy @kelani.photography, doing what she is truly passionate about and thriving. The point is, it's never too late! And the journey to where we are today was never a waste of time. I'm so inspired by those diving into new things, giving things a go with no guarantee of the result. What is that you dream to do but perhaps are just not sure when or how to take that plunge? I'd love to know

16.01.2022 Its a classic Australian favourite isnt it? Who hasnt loved a cherry ripe at some point in their life I came across a cherry flavoured granola by @plantlifefoodco found at @woolworths_au and was inspired to work on healthy version of the classic cherry ripe. I used the cherry granola with dates as my base, then created a cheery centre with frozen cherries, coconut, raw cashews and maple syrup and topped it with home-made chocolate.... A couple of hours in the freezer to set and the family was in cherry heaven. Am loving these granola flavours by @plantlifefoodco
15.01.2022 I wish this was my dinner, but instead I'm doing a two day cleanse, so no dinner for me tonight I'm just dreaming. I'll be whipping up a batch of these again very soon.... Hit me with your vegan filling ideas. Thinking pumpkin or mushroom
15.01.2022 It's one my favourite, classic Indian dishes - Chole Masala. 13.01.2022 I've been experimenting with jackfruit lately and I must say I am rather impressed with the outcome. I whipped up these soft shell tacos for my husband in no time, as he's a huge taco fan. Got the thumbs up from him, so happy humans all round. Using @plantlifefoodco BBQ jackfruit and a mixture of fresh salad, topped with a herb vegan mayo.... Constantly amazed by the incredible plant-based products making their way onto our supermarket shelves. This one is an easy find in the health food aisle @woolworths_au And bonus - it's soy free (for those that avoid soy) and such a healthy meat alternative. Stay tuned, I'll be using the red curry flavour next in one on my spicy Thai curries. Can't wait for that.

12.01.2022 Oh my you're so beautiful! Almost too pretty to eat, said no-one ever It goes without saying that I have a huge sweet tooth, but not the white, sugary type. I much prefer to create vegan sweets with real ingredients and un-refined sugars.... This mixed berry, raw vegan cheesecake is next level. Using the incredible @plantlifefoodco peanut crunch granola, the base is rich, full of flavour and with a few dates thrown in, is the perfect, chewy sweet base. 06.01.2022 There are so many ways to convert traditional recipes into 100% vegan meals. It's been a work in progress for me and I'm constantly learning For those that are plant-based, or perhaps just limiting dairy, this vegan ricotta is a great alternative and so, so simple. Made with firm tofu, raw cashews, garlic, salt and nutritional yeast. Have it plain, or as I have here, mix it with some spinach amd use to fill pasta shells.... This picture is taken before oven roasting them. I tooped the shells with some more pasta sauce and baked for 10 minutes.

01.01.2022 Sometimes we need to take life less seriously! I've been feeling a bit heavy the last couple of weeks, with all that's going on in the world, and forgotten to just relax and live in the moment. After all, we've only got this very moment! Not sure about you, but when I allow myself to be dragged down, everything feels dark and heavy. It can be hard to see the light.... So today, I made a choice to move towards the light. To read less on social media, get up early and go to the gym, meditate, go to yoga, play with my kids, bake healthy treats, eat less, fill my body with positive energy and healthy vibrant foods. And after one day, the dark cloud has vanished and there is light again. We can't necessarily change the world in an instant, but we can shift our perspective quickly and choose joy, even in a s**t storm! What are you doing to stay in the light? I think we could all do with some tips and deep sharing
