14.01.2022 The main thing we have in life is CHOICE! It’s estimated that 95% of all illness and disease in modern society is caused or exacerbated by stress. But there are strategies we can use to react and respond better, and ultimately, change the outcome. ... They involve taking ownership of the main thing we have: CHOICE! We cannot change other people, but we can change ourselves. Therefore, we can choose to change the situation (avoid / alter), or we can choose to change our reaction (adapt / accept). Here are some tips to do that: Avoid unnecessary stress - not all stress can be avoided and it’s not healthy to avoid a situation that needs addressing, however you can choose to avoid what is not necessary in your life [learn how to say ‘no’, avoid people who cause you stress, take control of your environment - turn off the news if it makes you anxious, scale down your to-do lists to ‘shoulds’ and ‘musts’]. Alter the situation - if you can’t avoid a stressful situation, try to alter it so the problem doesn’t present itself in the future. [Express your feelings, be willing to compromise, be more assertive, manage your time better]. Adapt to the stressors - if you can’t change the stressor, change yourself by changing your expectations and attitude [reframe problems - how might this be beneficial, look at the big picture - will it matter next week, month or year, adjust your standards, focus on the positive] Accept what you can’t change - some sources of stress are unavoidable so it’s far better to practice acceptance [focus on the things you can control such as your reactions, look for the lesson - personal growth or awareness, acknowledge your feelings, learn to forgive] . . , . . #stress #triggers #choice #positiveactions #lifecoach #lifecoaching #holistichealth #holistichealing

Small changes such as clearing out your ‘spare’ room, filing personal documents, booking in that dental check-up, preparing lunches the night before..... Left undone, these tasks can take up mental space and focus. Taking care of these tasks can help to create space within your life to achieve everything you need to. 06.01.2022 Do you compare yourself to others? I know that I do! Social media can be a breeding ground for comparison and perceiving others as being perfect! Look at her life. She has everything The truth is, you don’t know what is going on in her life.... and it doesn’t really matter because when you spend time looking outwardly, you’re not focusing inward. You are not honouring who you are and all the magic YOU have to offer.... I like to think about why someone or something has triggered me. To understand what needs healing within myself. What limiting beliefs I have and what part of myself is feeling ‘less than’ based on what someone else is doing. Or, do I need to be honest with myself about where I’m not putting in the effort to have the things I want/what she has. Does this person have something I want physically/spiritually/professionally/emotionally and I don’t know how to achieve it? OR does it seem unattainable for me so they make me feel uncomfortable OR does what they have not sit within my core values and I don’t feel aligned with them but instead of recognizing that, I compare myself. This requires working on my self belief and self worth. Nobody else can make you feel bad about yourself but YOU! Here are some of the things I do to work through these feelings: * Journaling - I like to get the shit out of my head and onto paper. It helps me to recognise unhealthy thought patterns, to STOP and REPLACE and to shift my thoughts into a more positive and empowering state! * Meditation (YouTube has an abundance of guided meditations for self love/positive self talk/healing). Meditation will draw you back in to your truth. To the essence of who you are. * I follow people who are genuine, raw and real. * Exercise - movement allows us to express and process emotions through our body. Get outdoors, go for a walk or run. Do some yoga. Release those emotions! * Nourish my body with healthy life-giving plant based goodness! * Reach for positive self talk! Remember all my strengths, stay in my own lane! * Come back to my core values and my vision statement which outlines all the things I want in my life. Personal training, Pilates classes, moving my body daily, at-home exercise equipment, at-home infrared sauna, acupuncture, bowen therapy, reiki, meditation.
