20.01.2022 HAPPY 50TH BIRTHDAY !! On the 12th August 1969 in Kempsey NSW, a group of interested horsemen came together in a meeting convened by Bruce Woods and Trevor Main...ey. The outcome of that meeting was the formation of the East Coast Cutting Horse Association (Australia) and the foundation membership was 39 full members and 8 associates. From its formation the Association proved to be the largest in Australia and was a driving force in the establishment of a national body that we now know as the NCHA with the purpose of this body to accept the registration of all active cutting horses in Australia, keeping of records, uniformity of rules, Judging etc. The ECCHA is the oldest Club in Australia and this weekend they are holding their first big show in 8 years and have called it the 'ECCHA Trailblazer' and it is hoped to be an annual fixture in the calendar. In her third year as President, we extend a big congratulations to Deb McLaughlin and the hard working Team who have worked tirelessly behind the scenes to pull the show together and a special thank you from the Club goes to The Kempsey Show Ground Manager, Lisa Powlesland and her maintainence crew, (Barry and his team) who did all the work on revamping the pen and fixing up the grounds. It looks amazing ! And of course, we wish the ECCHA a very Happy Birthday ! We hope you have a great show and with Photographer and one of the Show sponsors Ken Anderson on hand, we look forward to seeing photos from the show in the next Chatta. A special thank you to Tony Saul and Shamil Livestock for the provision and transport of cattle for this event at the Kempsey Showground this weekend. Deb did mention also that they will be conducting a fund raising raffle at the show which includes a service to the incredible stallion 'Who's Top Cat' valued at $2,200. Tickets are just $10 and are available at the Show or by getting in touch with the ECCHA on FB. The prize will be drawn at the Kempsey Show next year. A big thank you to Richard and Lauren at Tamarang for donating this prize. Here's a photo from the Club's archives of the 1971 Show poster when, as they commonly did back then, they ran a Cutting Show in conjunction with a Rodeo to keep the 'crowd entertained'. . We hope the crowd this weekend will be equally entertained by a strong field of entries over two days. All the best !

We re-homed him to a lovely family that were able to take him on and raise him the way he deserved, and we couldn't be happier with how this little Top Cat baby has settled into his new home with his new owners!
