24.01.2022 This morning our outgoing 2019 Senior Leadership Team handed over at a working breakfast to our incoming 2020 Senior Leadership Team. The discussion was around the roll of leaders, student voice and team work.

The newly elected team will take office at the beginning of Term 4. We would also like to acknowledge and thank our outgoing Leadership Team of 2019 Ty Hughes, Mia Peden, Carter Sheilds, Matisse Coram-Parker and Daniel Harragon who have represented the student body displaying and leading our core values of Learning, Respect and Responsibility.

22.01.2022 Whitebridge High School would like to congratulate and welcome our incoming Student Leaders of 2021. School Captains Ally Smith and Cooper Hunt. Vice Captains... Eryn Brown and Brayden Park. Senior Counsellors Paige Carr and Jacob Zissis. This group of Year 11 students are committed to upholding the core values of Whitebridge High School and demonstrate regularly a commitment to learning and to working as a cohesive leadership team. Congratulations to an amazing group of young adults. We would also like to thank our outgoing Year 12 2020 Student Leadership Team. School Captains Angela Kindleysides and Joshua Levin. Vice Captains Asha Niddre and Luke Wilson. Senior School Counsellors Kira Ridgewell and Joseph Lydfiard. These students have not only worked hard to raise the profile of student voice within the SRC at but also within the wider school. They have worked diligently with both staff and students to create a culture of respect and kindness. Thank you for all you have done and will continue to do to promote WHS is a positive light.

21.01.2022 Thank you to the staff and students who participated in the SRC fundraiser today. Thank you also to Nicole from Feel The Magic who addressed the students and st...aff on the workings of the camp, her camp experiences and the positive impact it has on kids and their families. It costs $1000 to send a kid to Camp Magic so any donations would be greatly appreciated. We have had two students attend in the past. 17.01.2022 Whitebridge High School would like to announce that Joshua Levin our boy School Captain has been awarded the 2020 Minister’s Award for Excellence in Student Ach...ievement. This is a prestigious award presented to only a small number of students across the state who have demonstrated high achievement in academic excellence, leadership and commitment to the school community. Unfortunately due to COVID Josh was unable to attend the formal ceremony in Sydney where he would have been presented with his award. Our school is also extremely proud to announce our school Vice Captain Asha Niddrie was awarded a 2020 Minister’s Award for Excellence, Commendation. An exceptional honour for an outstanding young woman. Both students achievements were announced on our virtual assembly this morning. Josh and Asha have contributed across a wide range of activities both inside and outside of school. Their commitment to learning, leading and giving of their time have been both acknowledged and rewarded. Congratulations on an amazing achievement we are very proud of you both.

17.01.2022 Today our newly elected members attended the National Young Leaders day in Darling Harbour, Sydney. We listened to several successful and inspirational speakers including John Coutis, Erin Molan and Bianca Chatfield. The motivating speakers delivered tips and strategies about how to apply the concepts on leadership, perseverance and goal-setting to our leadership team. Thank you to teachers who organised the day and Mr Stamp who accompanied us to Sydney.

16.01.2022 Today, we held the SRC AGM and major planning day for 2020. We learnt about the formalities & processes of making change and participated in group activities to help build leadership skills. We would like to thank Central Charlestown Leagues Club for facilitating the day and a special thank you to Jack Antcliff, Johnathon Batersbey and Mr Martinelli for organising and coordinating the day.



16.01.2022 Thank you to the parents/carers and students who attended our Year 7 2020 Information night tonight. What a fantastic effort from our school community. We look forward to seeing these wonderful students in 2020.

15.01.2022 On Monday morning on 11/11 Whitebridge High School students and staff remembered a long time ago in Europe in 1918 when WW1 officially ended wth the signing of ...the armistice. Our School Captains explained to the assembly the significance of this moment in our history. Both staff and students held a minute silence to reflect on the people who made sacrifices particularly the soldiers and nurses who became casualties of a long drawn out war. Our School Leaders along with our Principal, Nadene Harvey attended the Remembrance Service at The Dudley War Memorial to lay a wreath on behalf of the school. LEST WE FORGET.

15.01.2022 Whitebridge High School is very proud to announce that tonight, our School Captains Mia Peden and Ty Hughes have both received the Minister’s Award for Excellen...ce in Student Achievement 2019. Only 37 students in NSW were recognised with this esteemed honour amongst the 800000 students attending Public Education every day. Also honoured tonight is our amazing teacher Mrs Heather Arms who has received the Minister’s Award for Excellence in Teaching 2019. The Minister’s Award for Excellence in Teaching is a prestigious award presented to teachers in NSW government schools. The award recognises the achievements of outstanding teachers in delivering high quality education to students and their contributions to their professional communities. Mia and Ty receive their awards for continued excellence across academics, leadership, sport, culture and community contribution. They are truely worthy recipients and outstanding role models for Whitebridge High School. In presenting the awards tonight, the Minister for Education and Early Childhood Learning, The Honourable Sarah Mitchell MLC, commented that the inspiration you get from a teacher stays with you for life, I have no doubt that those inspired by our Mrs Arms would agree whole heartedly. Congratulations to Ty, Mia and Mrs Arms on this outstanding achievement. Our school is very proud of you. Nadene Harvey

13.01.2022 Today our school leaders held a networking day with other local high school leadership teams. Representatives from Hunter Sports High, Kotara High, Warner’s Bay... High, Belmont High, Cardiff High and Swansea High were in attendance. The group discussed how their SRC teams are run in each school and how they contribute to student voice. Congratulations to the WHS Student Leadership team who hosted and ran the entire session. See more



10.01.2022 International Women's Day 2019. International Women's Day is held throughout the world on 8 March to celebrate the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. We value and respect our hard working women at Whitebridge High and in the community.

06.01.2022 Today at WHS we wore our beanies to support the Mark Hughes Foundation MHF. Thank you to Mark Hughes for speaking to the students on assembly about the importa...nce of the charity and how everyone can make a difference to raise awareness about brain cancer. Thank you also to Paul Harragon for coming to the school this morning and for his ongoing support of the MHF and Whitebridge High School. A great effort made by the SRC and thank you staff and students for your involvement in the day.

03.01.2022 Whitebridge High school would like to remind all families that the first day of term 2 for students will be Monday 29 April. The first week of term will be week... A on the timetable. As previously advised in the school newsletter and via email, the School Development Day has been moved to Monday 6 May. Students do not attend on this day staff will be involved in professional learning all day.

03.01.2022 On Friday our SRC team organised and ran a fundraiser for the Rural Fire Service NSW. The NSW RFS is the lead combat agency for bush fires in NSW. The RFS aims... to reduce the likelihood and consequence of fires occurring. The SRC wanted to support this service considering the devastating circumstances the volunteers are facing at the moment. The student body were asked to come dressed in red or yellow and provide a gold coin donation. Along with this, the SRC ran an ice block sale at lunch which was a success. We will continue to sell ice blocks and pass on any other funds to the RFS. Thanks to the support and participation from the student body and staff, the SRC raised an impressive $960.

02.01.2022 Monday 15th October all Year 11 students will attend a HSC preparation day. Students will meet in St Johns Oval grandstand at 8.45am. If driving please park in ...the St Johns Oval carpark. Students must be in full school uniform. No exceptions. Please bring a pen, drink bottle, clothes to get changed into for a practical session, $10 for lunch at Central leagues club. A vegetarian option is available. Students can bring extra money to purchase juice. Students have received an email re how to place lunch order. Please go the Year 12 google classroom to select. Fruit will be provided for morning tea. Students will be dismissed from St Johns Oval at 3pm.

01.01.2022 This Wednesday 11th March, our SRC are holding a fundraiser for Feel the Magic. Feel the Magic runs a grief education and support program, Camp Magic. This thr...ee day camp was launched in 2015 and is designed to support children and teenagers aged 7-17 who have lost a parent/s, sibling or legal guardian. Camp Magic follows a structured psychoeducational program, in addition to fun physical activities and resilience building challenges. Campers make connections with peers as they learn that they are not alone in their grief in a supportive environment. On Wednesday, we are asking the students to bring a gold coin donation to dress out of uniform in the colours associated with the organisation; red, yellow and blue. Students are expected to wear the correct leather footwear and to wear respectful and sensible clothes. Also, the SRC are running a BBQ at lunch to raise much needed funds. Please come and support this important charity who helps students and families during the hardest times in their lives.
