25.01.2022 You all know and love the Interfacer, obviously. Now, here’s the Underfacer.
23.01.2022 ‘Synth Pop Underscores’ by @all_sorts_music Underscore it with a Pop of Synth! Just a Pop though! No more than that.
21.01.2022 I met the guys from @goodwoodaudio about 7 years ago. Seeing their business grow from making guitar cables to what it is today has been inspiring. I’ve been lucky enough to work with them over that time on various projects - my favourite has been developing the typeface and pedal design they use across their whole range. It all started with ‘The Interfacer’. @ White Flag
18.01.2022 This year, I’ve been writing an email series called ‘Learning to Fail’ about all the things I’ve learnt running @barebones.cc and White Flag. This graphic is from the article ‘Yeah but why?’ where I talk about the importance of conveying ‘why’ your brand exists instead of just telling people ‘what’ you are selling. If you haven’t signed up, hit the link in the bio to check out all the past articles and sign up to future ones.
17.01.2022 Five years ago, I started Bare Bones for a bit of fun and as a way to road test the advice I was giving to my clients. Bare Bones has now grown into something bigger than just ‘a bit of fun’ and, in the process, presented me with one of the steepest learning curves I could have imagined. Through that slow climb, I’m now able to look back on all I’ve learnt. It turns out, the most valuable lessons didn’t come from when things just ‘fell into place’, but more so when they kind...a fell apart. So, I decided to write about them in a series called ‘Learning to Fail’. If you’re running a small business, starting a brand, or just interested in hearing about someone else falling flat on their face and getting back up to do it again, I’d love to have you along for the ride! You can read more about it here and sign up to the monthly newsletter to receive each new article in your inbox. Cheers, Paul https://www.whiteflagstudio.com/journal/learning-to-fail
17.01.2022 Bare Bones had it’s 6th BDay this year! So, we celebrated by dropping all our prices to $60 or lower! This was a little animation created for IG / FB adverts at the time.
13.01.2022 When I think of learning to play guitar, I remember the first acoustic I had. It was laughably bad, but it did the job for years. There’s something really special about grabbing an acoustic guitar and being able to just play something. That’s the story I wanted to bring into the @villageguitar logo. So I drew this based on the acoustic guitar I want (instead of the stubborn beast I had growing up).
13.01.2022 I’ve known Mark from @villageguitar since I was a kid. Mark was my first guitar teacher when I was 10 and Village Guitar was one of my first clients when I was 22. We’ve worked together for over 15 years now and I’m always thankful to be involved. It’s also a lot of fun having the chance to rework your old designs. This is the new Village Guitar logo for 2020 @ Village Guitar
09.01.2022 Throw your money in the air like you just don’t care. Or, better yet, throw it my way. Happy to take it. This video has been a long running staple of the @barebones.cc advertising. People love a good wallet throw! Who would have thought?!
09.01.2022 Signal Chain is now a Guitar Boutique (and so much more). This version of their logo is now emblazoned across the window of their new store in Brisbane. Grand Opening this Saturday!
09.01.2022 More from the @goodwoodaudio lineup featuring the custom brand type on each pedal.
07.01.2022 For the @signalchainmusic window sign, we wanted to include something that really said ‘guitar’ - a picture says a thousand words so we decided to use a picture of a guitar to say ‘guitar’ one thousand times. Hopefully it gets the message across. This is a guitar that I illustrated in a tattoo line kinda style. For the record and for the law, this is NOT a telecaster. I call it the Signal--Caster. #teletuesday Swipe for details
06.01.2022 Do you even do movie, bro? Yeah, sometimes. If the need arises. Here are some quick 15 second clips I’ve made for @barebones.cc over the last year. This one features @_charlesoliver_ rollin’ and strollin’ (as the kids say?)
01.01.2022 As the wise man Shia Lebouf once said (or shouted many times to be more accurate), Just DO IT! If I’m not mistaken, he was the first one EVER to say this - he came up with it all himself. So, credit where credit is due. The first article in my ‘Learning to Fail’ series is called "No but srsly, just do it and it talks about the idea of not waiting till everything is ‘perfect’ before you launch or start a new project. Sometimes you gotta just throw yourself into it, see how ...the cards fall and then play on from there. You can check it out here and if you want to get future emails to your inbox, sign up to the series. Thanks! Paul https://www.whiteflagstudio.com/jou/no-but-srsly-just-do-it
