22.01.2022 To our faithful racers and families, After due consideration of all that is happening at the moment and with regards to conforming with the SA governments recommendations and lawful direction in dealing around Covid 19 we have been left with no choice but to postpone our 2020 Annual General Meeting until further notice. There are several legal issues that constrain us at present with the social distancing issue along with food servicing etc. The present committee will contin...ue to work as elected to set the next race seasons dates and events so that new committee when elected will not be on the back foot. We will also continue to operate as usual and maintain and carry out repairs and upgrades to the racetrack and other assets. We will try to reset this date asap and hopefully get that out to everyone as soon as possible Take care & Regards SCDC Committee.

22.01.2022 Tuesday 12th January we are holding a General Meeting at the Club Rooms on McBryde Terrace, 7pm. All welcome

21.01.2022 We are getting many many many messages in regards to running events. We just want to let everyone know that we are currently in our normal off season. We don't run through winter due to the weather as you all will understand.... We are currently working on some dates to get some form of event happening and we will keep you all posted. We also understand that everyone wants to get back to the track, as do we all. As we say we are working on it but we just ask everyone to be a little patient and we will keep you all posted once we have something sorted. Our priority is to keep everyone safe not just with Covid 19 but also wet horrible weather is not good for racing or test'n'tune days. As a club we will be adhering to all the rules and regulations that are in place. Again we just ask everyone to be a little patient.

09.01.2022 Merry Xmas to all our Drag Racing Family.

06.01.2022 VALE Jim Jennings RIP. On behalf of the Steel City Drag Club family we would like to offer our deepest condolences to Wendy, Michael and Fatty along with all the Jennings family, relatives, and friends. The Jennings family have been a solid, long standing supporters of our club and drag racing in general. Jim will be sadly missed by us all and will be noticeably missed from our vehicle access spectator mound in Whyalla. You will be remembered for that iconic smile and great... love of our sport. Another good man taken way to early. RIP Jim Jennings.

04.01.2022 It is with great regret that Sunraysia Drag Racing Association has officially cancelled the 2020 MPrint Industries Sunset Strip Junior Nationals. This decision ...has not been taken lightly as the committee have been looking at every possible scenario over the past few weeks to try and make this work. Unfortunately, no matter how we looked at it we always came back to the fact we do not know what situation our country is going to be in, in 9 weeks’ time. Will Melbourne be out of lockdown? will Victoria be in a lockdown with new cases being found daily some of which outside of Melbourne? Will our Victorian borders be open to all states to allow all competitors to come and compete? Will we be able to have more than 50 people at the facility? With what information we have on hand now we are unable to confidently answer any of these questions. For anyone that knows what we put into the Junior Nationals will also know that the past two years have been organised over a four-month period and that we are now almost under two months away from scheduled date. This alone would make it so extremely hard to organise and run the event to the standard that we deem acceptable. This announcement follows a release put out this morning by ANDRA acknowledging the cancellation of our Sunset Strip Nationals Summit Round. This event was due to be the weekend before the Junior Nationals and is also just impossible for us to organise properly We are sincerely sorry for the inconvenience this has caused, and we understand that this will upset more than a few competitors and families that love this event and what it stands for. I feel even more sorry for those competitors that are aging out and will not get to compete at another Junior Nationals. Not knowing when we can fully get operational makes it impossible at this stage to even think of re scheduling as when everyone gets the green light I’m sure every track will be making the most of every weekend they can to operate for the remainder of the season or what is left of it. With taking that on board we do not have plans to reschedule but to begin fresh next year with the running of the 2021 Junior Nationals in late September. We thank those that continually support us, and we hope that everyone that can will continue to support us in the future.

03.01.2022 Will need some volunteers in the morning for setting up.
