06.01.2022 This was us taking off ONE YEAR AGO!! It feels like only yesterday yet also like it was a lifetime ago. In some ways so much has changed and in others some things are just the same. We learnt so much about ourselves on the road and we wouldn’t change a thing. If you are thinking about challenging yourself and exploring JUST DO IT because the only regret you’ll have is the risk you didn’t take.
06.01.2022 One of the things we spoke about earlier on in our podcast last year was our struggle with the waste we were generating. Options we had to minimise waste at home, often either weren’t available on the road or simply weren’t practical. We also had almost constant reminders of how we (humans) are impacting our environment. Threatened and endangered species in every region, the effects of changing climates, the scale and impacts of some of our largest mining industries. Combine...d with crippling drought and severe bushfires at home, it was hard to ignore. We have been interested to live more sustainably for several years before travelling, but our adventure last year opened our eyes even wider. It’s something we were definitely eager to address when we returned home. We really wanted to double down on reducing our impact on our environment. Which is exactly what we’ve been doing this year. It’s also why Jess is holding a workshop this Wednesday where she will be sharing simple ways for families to live more sustainably. Forget the overwhelm, just easy, practical ways we can all contribute to a healthier planet and make sure our beautiful country can be explored for generations to come.
